Just thought I would start this thread to save some leg work and get help from my funky friends.

If you know of any funky band or DJ’s playing (large or small) then please share the knowledge. No one individual can know all the funky acts so if we share we can all introduce each other to something new and funky.  We could even get a descent list at the end of it…

I have to be honest here though I am good at seeing bands and thinking they were brilliant but am useless at remembering their names. So really I’m just  after some help …  :)

For starters:

Craig Charles Funk & Soul dj set Sunday 7pm Cubehenge (his set last year was one of my highlights!)
Craig Charles Fantasy Funk Band Saturday (well Sunday morning!) 1.30am

Fantasy Funk band includes: James Taylor on Hammond, the Haggis Horns, Eddie Roberts from the New Mastersounds on guitar, Ernie Maconie on bass, Mike Bandoni on drums, with John Turrell and Dionne Charles sharing vocal duties

Will be there for both of these!  B)

Dr John
Femi Kuti
Staff Benda Bilili
Mos Def
Quantic and his Combo Barbaro
Phenomenal Handclap Band

and most of all...

GEORGE CLINTON WITH PARLIAMENT / FUNKADELIC

Hey - I might need some funkadelic people to hook up for the Mothership Connection.  Possibly a funk meet as I'm guessing peeps I'm with will be raving instead for this one.

Am up for a Funk meet. Could do Parliament / Funkadelic, followed by a gentle stroll to Wow! for Craig Charles Fantasy Funk band at 1:30am.

Spotted in the line-up that there is 60s Soul and 70s Funk on the Friday and Saturday afternoon at the Experimental Soundfield Dance, (whatever that is), which might be worth checking out too.

I'm not a huge funk fan but I do listen to Craig Charles's Saturday show and am always blown away so I'll definitely checking him out

So is a Funk meet happening? Am thinking the Cider Bus at 9:15pm on the Saturday, before heading to see George Clinton?
