Okay this is PURE speculation, infact it's probably not even that, it's just a bit of a punt and and prodding a bit of fun at Emily Eavis, but...
Emily denies Stevie Wonder is playing
Emily denies The Strokes are playing
Emily also denied that Green Day would be playing Glasto 2010 a while back (I remain a big fan so it was big news to me).
Green Day are in Ireland on 23rd June, then Paris on 26th.
They will have done their stadium shows by then and are doing no other festivals.
Surely as a very outside chance, it's possible.
If EE says it ain't happening at Glasto, it probably is.

Emily is not completely unable to tell the truth.
I would guess that being American and out for the cash they won't. Really doubt it tbh.
And if they were you would find me on the opposite side of the site

Yeah I'm seeing them on Wednesday too, it'd just be a nice little bonus gig if it happened.
I think it's possible but unlikely.

Having seen them at Wembley tonight I'm in no doubt that it would be a crying shame of Green Day don't play/headline Glastonbury some day.
They were truly exceptional. Played 33 songs in close to three hours. Greatest hits set and threw in some crowd pleasing covers. The key thing was that they clearly enjoyed themselves and seemed genuinely pleased to be there.
They are the last of the big bands left that I've ben wanting to see and I'm so pleased I finally got around to it. Straight into my top 5 gigs of all time.
Real shame they won't be at Glasto this year (no chance of a secret gig whatsoever) - my concern is that as much as I love ME he doesn't seem to want to consider the likes of Green Day, Foo Fighters, RHCP for slots on the pyramid. I can but hope they catch tonight's show because if that doesn't persuade them nothing will.

If Muse aren#t too rocky then Green Day et al ahouldn't be. I believe there are some concerns about booking 'rock' acts related to the deaths at Roskilde a few years ago but I really can't see it being an issue. I think there's also the fact that ME doesn't really like the type of music (I remember him saying of RHCP "that's music for kids, isn't it?")

Got there late so didn't see him. Shame but looking forward to seeing him at Glasto. I suspect he won't have gone down brilliantly with the dedicated young GD fans i.e. the ones who will have been there and at the front when he was on.

I've never seen him before or really properly listened to his stuff but he was pretty damn good like.
Oh and Green Day were absolutely brilliant
Would have definitely gone down well as a headliner.

I was in the golden circle and most of the people there seemed to really like him, including the ones right at the front.

Fair enough - as I say I wasn't there. I did notice a few negative comments on Twitter though.
Take it Golden Circle was for first few thousand people in? Always like that touch (I remember getting it at a U2 gig at Twickenham) - much nicer than just charging extra like they used to do at Hyde Park.

Yeah was a first come first served basis. I dunno, I don't mind paying an extra tenner for a guaranteed spot in golden circle instead of having to queue up for ages and do a mad dash just to try and get in.

Really can't stand the Green Day of new and doubt they'd be that well recieved at Glasto.

I just feel like it rewards the loyal rather than the wealthy. Plus it's ofeten more like an extra score (or more) rather than a tenner. Not sure how they run it at Wembley but I'd guess not all that well. At Twickers they had a great queuing system with barriers. The best part was getting the wristband and going off for a pint and curry before coming back 3 hours later right at the front!
Now that would be good for Glasto!
