Aha - thank you! Yes, only planning on sleeping between 1am until I can manage it (prob only 8am...) - so actually might be a good plan to get a bit nearer the action! Would prefer not to camp in a party field so I can choose when I go back to my tent and can sleep. Also bringing ear plugs...

Would be good to know what everyone means when they talk about huge long walks with stuff from the car to campsite - should be easy for me to walk from car with stuff for half an hour or so, will that allow me to choose from a few sites? I have zero concept of how big the festival site is :)

prepare to be amazed :D

hichin hill for us again i hope!

We camped there in 2004 and 2005 and I really like it. It's a great view of the festival and it's pretty quiet camping with a bit more space than Pennards etc. It was also pretty friendly when we camped there. The massive negative with this one for me was the amount of walking I ended up doing, especially late at night from the stones or late night area.

I'm working this year, I think my camp site is the crew camping at South Park. Looks OK from photos.

Camped there last year, absolutely perfect. Quiet, friendly neighbours, no drunken pricks falling into your tent when you're asleep as it's off the main tracks and great for Park/Other Stage, where i'm seeing loads of bands this year. Purrfick.

EDIT: Oh, and there was a cracking 'squash stall' about 200 yards from my tent that did pints of ice-cold squash for about 30p. That was a real lifesaver I tells ya!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Us 3 will probably end up in Dairy again.  Either that or Park Home.  Loved it last year in Dairy, were near some really nice people.

Hoping for Dairy again too, last two years...good spot, lovely neighbours and close to everthing I like :)

We were evicted from Home Park (when it became the Park Area) back in 2007 and have yet to find anywhere that matches it. This year we're looking at the far SW corner near pedestrian gate E (the little bit between the Campervan parking and the main Dairy area.

Has anyone got experience of this bit? I'm getting old and like a good night's sleep and some nearby 'facilities'. Oh and I want some space for a fire.

If not that bit, can anyone recommend an area for duffers like me?

I think we're leaning towards Hitchin Hill now (a home from home!), or Dairy depending on what gate we end up at.  I assume that the new area to the West will be better equipped with toilets / water etc than is shown at the moment on the fine guide, if we change our minds again & end up there?!

According to the Google Earth map there are toilets near Gate E.
