I am keeping everything crossed that somewhere during the festival the strokes will pop up. Julian Casablancas is doing his solo set but here's hoping. It would make me a very happy girl!!!

No chance at all
Julian has been playing Hard to explain and I'll try anything once during his solo shows though

i hate nme - they always publish info about secret shows. so basically there is now absolutely no chance of getting a ticket for this whatsoever

don't blame NME for publishing the news that PRs send out to them. Do blame them for calling it a 'secret show'.
The shows were never secret in the first place - as shown by the fact that PRs send out details about these 'secret shows'.
When efests gets a PR like that, we either ignore it completely (on the basis that if a PR is sending out news about it while claiming it's 'secret', then it makes the whole thing unbelievable on the basis that the claim of a 'secret show' is bollox), or it gets published without reference to it being 'secret'. We don't play along their idiot games.
Talking of which .... a PR recently came in for something which said something about "the leading festivals website..." and then mentioned a site that wasn't efestivals. Given that efestivals has at least 4 times the readers of all other festivals websites, we mailed back saying "as there's one part that is hugely factually inaccurate, we're presuming that the rest is too. Do correct us if we've got this wrong, cos we're going to ignore it". They didn't get back to us, so it got ignored.
If PR companies want to treat others as being as stupid as that, we'll act up to being that stupid and show them how they're wasting our time as well as their own. In the main they're too stupid to work it out for themselves - after all, people who spend all day writing bullshit and think themselves clever for doing it aren't the smartest people going.

they're literally playing (The Strokes that is) right up to Glasto weekend. Switzerland on the Friday i believe. here's what I dream...Julian's set (which will be the first gig of the solo jaunt...strange that they'd start right off with his first ever Glasto appearance), which can't have more than 40 mins of tunes, veers into a 2nd half bit where he brings on the bandmates to finish off. question is, do i stay for the full JC set to see if this happens or do i leave midway through to get a spot for Stevie on the Pyramid?
