Sad news for a drummer who was with the Stereophonics.
News stories are saying it was a drinking binge.

Seems all the more poignant that he died from a drinking binge on the night that the Phonics hada big homecoming gig.
Bottom line though its a sad loss to addiction yet again.

I live just around the corner from him in Aberdare. He used to drink in my local. Lovely chap. RIP MR Cable

I never liked the Stereophonics, but he always seemed like a stand up bloke - the fact that they threw him out always made me think that opinion was valid.
Terribly sad news.

Choked on his own vomit is what I've been hearing as cause of death.
Massive shame - seemed a very down to earth bloke.

Sorry I read that he was addicted to alcohol and drugs in a very big way, some of the news stories I read were printed as though they were his words.

If those stories are just that stories i don't know how people who report it can live with themselves.
A very sad day for Wales and music in general.

Very sad day for Welsh music, I was gutted when he got sacked by the band, and after this I didn't think the phonics were as good, and they certainly lost the character of the band, and barely held on to their local boys done good tag. Stuart was an everyday bloke with a big heart. Let's leave the inquest to the coroner, as sadly otherwise he will be lamented as the words of his song thousand trees, from word gets around

Always though he seemed a genuine down to earth nice guy and felt sorry for him when he left Stereophonics.
Just seemed the type of bloke that if you bumped into him he would happily yap all night about music and stuff.
Sad loss and thoughts with his friends and family
