I think that it's the lack on context that can be misleading at times? I have honestly meant some of the nicest people I know through this forum. People with whom I hope I keep in touch with for a very very long time

Admittedly I have also been exposed to people who I don't have a particularly high opinion of from how they have acted on here, but that's life! Not everyone gets on, people can be bullies, disrespectful and rude - we're human! I do think that some people are
braver with what they say on forums (in general not just here) but like in "real" life you just have to ignore the people that annoy you and get on with it!
I will admit that I have, in the past, been involved in a few "heated" discussions/threads whatever, but I do now live by "think before you type" style of posting. Lack of context is a really bad thing and what you think may be funny or banter, can be totally miunderstood by the person reading it. In fact in many different ways by everyone who reads it!!
There are people who don't live by "think before you type" or do and still offend people, but as I say - we're human, some people are just like that!
In the end I think the best reflection of the nature and personalities on this forum is the fact that in the last few months, we have all managed to raise nearly £6000 for wateraid via the Glasto World Cup. That is no easy task - especially at the moment when redumndancy and unemployment are rife

People on these forums, both oldies and newbies, have embraced this event and donated a staggering amount of money, time and support to the cause and I for one (and I know that Hogga and Chazeboy feel the same) am overwhelmed by the support show by the forums and the people on them.

This is the second year that we have done this and asked for you guys to support us and I wouldn't have been surprised if we received our fair share of "more f**king money, did we not give you enough last year" - but again the response and support for this fantastic cause has been astounding.
This has restored my faith in these boards and I know that there will always be the odd troll, verbal bashing of Mick Hucknall (

) and moaning Radiohead fan that the are not headling again this year (myself included)!
But on the whole, I don't think we're a bad bunch really and I know that the people that receive clean, fresh and diesease free drinking water as a result of your support would agree too!
