Despite the fact that there were about 30 people in the house this morning and lots of them were up, DX Secure managed to sneek in and deliver a non delivery note at 6.30am this morning.  It looks like they don't even bother to ring the doorbell, knock on the door or make any attempt to actually deliver tickets.  Very annoying...

Has anyone else had the same problem?

From various threads on here, I get the impression that problems are various and random. From not ringing the doorbell and running away to not getting a signature and delivering anyway.

I would question why Seetickets have decided to switch from Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (which they have been using afaik for Glasto for at least half a decade) to DX. They can hardly cut out the delivery middle man but, why change from a tried and reasonably reliable system to a complete unknown? Surely just to do with the balance sheet?

Edit: It may have been Special Delivery, thinking about it.

I do think knocking on the door at 6.30am on a Sunday is a bit much, especially if its to deliver festival tickets.

I wonder how many stashes have been flushed cos of that early morning bang on the door.... ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Same actually. They didn't try to deliver my ticket at all so had to phone up and request a 're-delivery.'

You can ask for them to deliver to your work address so you don't need to take the day off.

I'm quite confused by DX for the same reason, really. I've missed my delivery twice now and when my mother called on Friday to try and get a re-delivery for yesterday the guy on the telephone told her they don't work on weekends and yet i've seen people on here and on twitter getting their deliveries on the weekends and even on last Bank Holiday Monday!

Oh well, here's hoping for tomorrow!

I work for a courier company (not DX) and don't understand why people think we goto the trouble of driving to your address, getting out of the vehicle, finding your parcel, walking up to the door, writing out the card and putting it through the door without bothering to knock or ring. All this so that we can add another delivery to the next day 150 drops.
Now i can understand complaints of not even bothering to deliver, thats different and very very wrong.

Bloody Hell, i was only out in the garden and they just put a card through the door,no email to say they were coming......Wonder if Eavis reads this form...If so Michael...Get it sorted for next year....Not your fault i know but you should get a better contract with See Tickets or whoever you choose.

Been good for me, they tried to deliver, left a card, I rearranged, haven't actually recieved it yet, but sure all will be well.  Seems quite a professional service so far to me at least.

i don't know the answer to that, but we'd all be mightily pissed off if they used Royal mail and then they decided to have one of those strikes again that they have had a couple of in the last year.  didn't Amazon stop using them for that reason?

I know that there are always complaints of silly problems with DX/SMS even though I've never had any issues at all with them over the years.  No doubt many are justified but seriously, I find it really difficult to believe that they drive round to a house/flat and then rather than ring the bell and hand over the envelope they write out a card and post that through the letter box instead unsure.gif Just can't see a covert stylee delivery attempt is of any benefit to them at all ... unless you happen to live on the 143rd floor and lift was b*ggered of course tongue.gif

Mind you, I've caught Royal Mail out doing it a couple of times. Mr.Postie got fed up with taking several packages on a grand tour of the local area only to find no one in when he turned up at the door so he 'delivered' the next particularly awkward one straight to the front office at the depot instead and just brought the "sorry you were out" card with him. Was somewhat embarrassed when the door opened a mere few seconds after posting the card through as I knew it was coming that day so was sat inside waiting for it ! Oooops, b*gger and all that laugh.gif  Good job the depot is literally only around 100m up the road from me or I defo wouldn't have found it highly amusing !

I've never had any problems with SEE and DX sent an email and delivered the tickets at 6.30 on a saturday evening.

But Royal Mail are slack to say the least imho. The last 3 sets of glasto tickets all got delivered standard deliverey, no signature or any thing required at all. Plus last year my mates tickets were delivered to an empty flat round the corner from where he lives. If it wasn't for the new owners moving in the next day and hand delivering it in person, don't know what would  of happened with less than a week to go?
Add to that the possibility of strikes, and I say good riddens to RM

I think it depends on your delivery man. Mine is obviously an idiot. Two attempted "deliveries" according to the website, but no cards either time. No sign on Bank Holiday Monday, no sign on Saturday, where I spent the glorious day sat indoors watching the gate like a hawk. Today, my housemate gets a phone call - it's the delivery man, with HER ticket, due on Wednesday. We would have arranged for them both to be delivered on Saturday but when she rang up to get a redelivery she was told they don't deliver on weekends.

I work for a very large company and I am not sure about getting them delivered to work. I suppose I could take my passport down and explain the importance of the package, and ask them to just ring up to me when it arrives - but having read about the lad who had his tickets thrown away when he had them delivered to work I just can't risk it. I am getting really pissed off now. Do they have a depot I can just go to?

I have had numerous problems with DX.

I try now not to use See Tickets as much as possible, i have asked them why they say Special Delivery when its a trademarked term by Royal Mail, but still use DX and say its the same.

They are basically chosing a cheap option whilst still charging silly money for delivery costs.
