DOVES!! Get in. So pleased they're playing. It is a great festival been for the last few years and it has to be one of my summer highlights. The fact it finishes early is a bonus too for us. Few other good names there too, really pleased with it. Looking forward to the saturday announcement now.

Incidentally looks like the tickets have "Shot up" to £15 each this year before fees- there is a presale through Absolute radio.

Here's the link. Glad that doves are playing, love 'em, and it's always good to see the smaller bands when you're eating ice cream!

Looks like there is a new addition this year- an acoustic stage.
A band called "4th street traffic" are playing on the 24th on the acoustic stage. Saw them yesterday open for the Stereophonics at Cardiff City Stadium and noticed this on a flyer.
Looks like the festival could be expanding with a new stage and the price rise?

They stated on facebook that the second stage was the reason for the price increase. Can't complain witht he price still £15 is reasonable enough for a Doves gig!

Are we thinking/hoping for another 80s type headliner or something more modern for Saturday?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Athlete or Magic Numbers there, they would fit.

Well the Saturday line up has been announced, Scouting for Girls headlining (I'm sure someone will be watching them. I'll be eating ice cream.). Then Idlewild, Slow Club, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Pearl and the puppets, Little Fish and Alice Gold.
Tickets on sale from Monday.

I think I chose the right day for us by getting tickets for the Sunday

OK, wow! Definitely chose the right day with getting Sunday tickets. That's a stinker of a headliner!

Sunday is definitely looking a lot better. Not sure whether to get tickets for the Saturday as well though. I love ice cream. But I hate Scouting for Girls. I shall let the wife decide!

I'm tempted by Idlewild - cos they're an excellent band
- but, at second on the bill, they're likely to play for maybe 45 mins, at the most?
- and London is a very long way to trek for a set that short!
Btw, ice cream is okay, but I'd rather have a cold lager - do they sell that as well?

They do sell lager, and sometimes the queues for drinks are pretty small in comparison to the queue for ice cream!

The queues may be small, but not the prices.

Flipping hate SFG but will still go as we'd be staying up saturday night anyway. May just leave early and do something else with the evening. I like Idlewild but don't know much of the others.
Beer prices are the same as any other festival, not that it particularly affects me as I have ways of smuggling my own alcohol in. They never seem as stressed there about what you take in, have seen people literally taking picnics and coolboxes full of stuff in but have never tried blatantly taking booze in.
