What shall i go for. Usually opt for a big sports bag, but found it annoying taking it from A to B in 2008, not to mention the neck ache i had the following days after. But what shall i go for, and has anyone seen anything cheap?

How does the army carry stuff over rough ground on foot?
How do long distance ramblers do it?
Rucksacks.
A proper rucksack has a waist belt, so all the weight is supported vertically on your hips. The shoulder straps are just to stop it toppling. You won't get neck or back ache from a rucksack.
You can do your own googling for cheap ones

This.
I bought my rucksack 12(
) years ago and have used it for countless festivals...it's the only way to go. Every time I see someone with a sports bags or wheeled luggage (I mean, honestly!) struggling through the mud I love my rucksack that little bit more.
having said that i take a sack truck as well, for the tent/cider/etc...

We're using a fold up trolley this year for the first time.
Wheels are not that big but has got 2 wheels per axle (double axle? I'm not up on the lingo!) and seems OK.
Has anyone ever shrinkwrapped their trolley to keep it secure? Bungee ropes just look as if they won't work to me.
Only problem with wrap is if you need to take it off at the security point I suppose unless you take some in with you.
Anyone else done this? And I mean pallet wrap not clingfilm for wrapping meat in!

The trusty rucksack was waist strap is the way to go, and if you have access to one, a large sports holdall on wheels.
I use my old cricket bag, gets most of my bear + tent in!

I got for the hybrid shopping trolley (two wheeled kind) and less cumbersome rucksack. I can take more, and experience far less stress. Big wheels on the trolley are idea for the mud. Best Glastonbury find I've made
Good old 2007...

I inherited mine from my dad. I think it's likely to have had 40 years of use.

i used to take a big rucksack. but i am short and don't have much weight on me, so i found it just towered above my head and made me bend over forwards (maybe i wasn't doing it right?)
last year i took a small but amazingly spacious normal sized rucksack, and an old suitcase-type-thing on wheels to put my tent etc in. as it was dry it was way easier than the rucksack, and this year as i'm in charge of taking both tents down i'll be using it again to put them in. i'm just hoping it won't be muddy coz that won't be fun.
also, my glastonbury travel comprises of train to london, (overnight stay with family,) then coach to the festival, and the same back. I'd be tempted to take a trolly thing instead of a suitcase-type-thing, but suitcase-type-things are way easier when it comes to public transport.

I'd recommend one of these...
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...%7C14419410.htm
There is also a 60 litre version but I went for the 90 litre one and have no regrets. I'm only 5'4" and don't find it too big.
I used it for the first time last year and it was much better than the two sports bags I'd used in the past.
If you go for a different model, try and get one with a side zip as this will make packing it a lot easier than if you're restricted to top loading only. Also, having lots of clips might seem excessive, but the more the better I think.
