Something i'd add to the conversation is to get to "The Rifes" early. We showed up last year at 10pm and they had stopped serving.

Pretty sure it was a lot later than that last year, we were there till around 12am and they stopped serving just before that (unless its food you are on about?)
*edit*
Just checked photos from past 2 years, definately we were in there till 11.45 at least going by the time taken

Paul unless I am UTTERLY mistaken (Nal can back me up on this) they wouldnt serve us lot after about 10.30 and there was no real action in the place / out the back from about 10.45pm. We had been up in the Who'd A Thought It for a spot of grub and then strolled up to the Rifes. When we got there it was pretty much dead at about 10pm. Some complete mentalist woman started getting all political with us Irish... I would have preferred to go for a swall in the George & Pilgrim to be fair.
We had a MASSIVE lip on us for booze. Trust me. If we could we would have drunk the Rifes dry.

Cool cool I am sure we'll still be there at that time, we were last year!!
Glastonbury is on Google maps street view now, so you could have a wee look and see from there!! It'll be good to see you again!!
The food's cheap and cheerful! One option and last year it was sausages and mash for 5 quid! They had a veggie option to! Not a 5 star michelin place but good enough to line your tummy for ale and cider!!
How about some proper fish & chips? How much is cider?

There is an ace fish and chip shop in Glastonbury, which I can't remember the name of but Paultm recommended it last year if I remember correctly!!
Honestly can't remember how much a pint was last year either, sorry not very helpful I know! But it's not expensive there at all!!

Yep
Our arrival time depends on how early fion and meesh get to Andover. The earlier the better, but I would like to get there before 9 so I can get some sausage and mash !
See you there.QUOTE (norainplease @ Jun 2 2010, 10:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I think I might have been the only sober person there at closing time!!
They'll be at least two of us this year

I'll be there with my neice and her mate. I'll probably drive due to the fact that i've booked a couple of pitches at Ashcombe Farm campsite which is literally next door to the festival.
No way i'm sleeping in a van, there will be three of us so it ouldbe a nightmare.
Im not climbing the Tor this year either!

Yep, I'll be giving that a miss as well
I haven't got a clue what its going to be like spending the night in the car park. I can't imagine getting enough sleep. It's anybody's guess what kind of socialising will be going on - if any.
I'm guessing I'll be having a long lunchtime nap at the triangle.
Still, it will be a great buzz in the Riflemans on Glasto eve

You gonna stay off the ale and drive onto site later then stab? I've still got the option of coming down with a mate on the tuesday night and reeeeally wanna do the Riflemans again. Only snag is that i think i'd have a hard time convincing him to go to the Riflemans and stay off the pop... he likes a beer (or 10)

Hello! It now appears I will be able to make my debut appearance at the Rifleman's this year as one of my very kind fellow Camp Triangulars has solved my 'getting a lift to the festival site' problem.
I'm getting the train from the Solstice at Avebury to Castle Cary and then a taxi to the Rifleman's but I'm not sure on times yet. I may end up getting there quite early so I'll have to endure a tough few hours sitting in the pub with only alcohol and food and cigarettes to sustain me. If I survive that ordeal I'll see you all in the evening. In only one week and a few hours in fact!

I wont be making this now (
) as we're not leaving Brum til about 10.30pm so we wont arrive at the site til about 1 in the morning. Maybe next year!
