Black Eyed Peas for the Sunday... that lass out of Ndubz said they were playing and then it also leaves the option of them getting on stage with Slash as Fergie features on some tracks... Slash has also appeared with them on stage when they played some support dates to play "Paradise City"
apart from that i have no idea

Strokes? Keane? ( tho not sure if keane would be 'special' enough - no reason to keep it a surprise) atoms for peace?
I once saw a 'very special surprise guest' backstage at the john peel tent when it was still just the new bands tent, and it was a solo set by one of the roadies!

I think Keane would be special enough. Theyre definitely bigger than third on the park stage.
Especially after previous years of Dead Weathers, Hot Rats and Klaxons. Yeah maybe theyve got the names in them but if youre expecting BIG names then youre going to be disappointed.
Although as per the previous post, Black Eyed Peas would be pretty special.
I still expect Richard Ashcorft's new band to come on if The Dead Weathers is a gauge.

i didn't think there was a special guest park slot on the sunday? just says TBA's on the lineup... surely someone like Black Eyed Peas would be listed as a "special guest", rather than just a TBA?

To be fair, as much as people hate to admit it, Keane are a very big band. If they played i'd guess they would be close to the top of the Pyramid. I really feel this year's lineup is missing these 'shit but good' type of acts. (Keane, Scouting for girls, Lady gaga, Hoosiers, The Feeling etc etc)

Black Eyed Peas? What a waste of a timeslot. Again.

I think Grinderman could be on there.
I'm also hoping The Super Furry Animals

The Strokes - one would hope, probably on the Saturday slot. Especially with Julian Casablancas playing solo on the Sunday, plus most of their appearances (Isle of Wight, Rockness) are nearby Glasto.
Wouldnt be suprised if Lily Allen takes one of them - what with her touring with Dizzee, AND Muse.
If she doesnt take that - I'd be shocked if she doesnt at least APPEAR at some point on the weekend.
Freebass would be a fair shout to at least be one of the TBAs, possibly a special guest. And tbh, they should be widely accepted, what with their cultural relevance. Peter Hook would do it in honour of Ian Curtis, plus Mani is good friend with the Eavis clan.

Won't be Freebass, saw them on Monday and asked Hooky, who bluntly replied "No" (miserable sod). Didn't get the chance to ask Mani if he was there, and Andy Rourke may be there according to his cousin. Vague I know but there you go!

Maybe De La Soul? If they come over to do a few tracks with Gorillaz (which seems likely), I doubt they'd leave the site without doing a De La set.
That's what I'm hoping, anyway...

How many times did he mention he was from Salford? Every gig / interview i've ever seen he manages to mention it at least twice, like it was an achievement!!

He didn't say much all night, he was a bit of a twat if you ask me. It's a bit rich threatening someone in the crowd and calling them a "f**king c**t" when all they did was shout out for Love Will Tear Us Apart. It's not like he's refused to play it since Curtis died is it?!

Lots of speculation going on in this thread!...so far the only concrete info is Black Eyed Peas for one of the slots (Sunday), and Villagers for another one (villagers self-confirmed, BEP from another artist)...other than that let the wild speculation continue, but we'll know for sure by the time we leave for the farm (or if not just ask whoever is on the sound desk on the day)...

The truth is it could be anyone! Who would've guessed Supergrass last year! (i know it was the sideproject! haha...)

so eveybody hates N-Dubz but will take Tulisa's 'info' about the BEP?
tis a strange, strange world i tell ya!
anyway, TBA's, Special Guests or whatever, i'll avoid. it's tricky enough working what to do with the known line up never mind those that may or may not be on. and the Park is a bit of a treck to be disappointed at!

surely it's TBA rather than 'special guests' as it's to save a free slot for the possible England game (see other threads saying that the second England game of the festival is to be played at The Park).
so if we win our group, the TBA on the saturday becomes the England game, leaving the sunday to be 'special guests'.
we come second, and the TBA on the saturday becomes 'special guests', leaving the sunday to be the football.
btw, i know the sunday game is an afternoon kick off, but i think they're just saving a 'slot' rather than a specific time.
