I was a student when I did it, so that places it between 95-97 - probably 96! The only act I actually remember seeing that year was Alanis Morisette, but I do remember David Bowie was on. I did go to Phoenix as a paying customer a couple of times around then too and had a great time - it was just working it I hated!

It was Specialized Security
if it was Bowie it was 96 so the Manic Street Preachers must have played 93 and 97 although the records could be wrong { I found a guy selling a bootleg to their performance in 93 }

if you recall there was no Glastonbury that year so the place was packed

I was off that night and I know for a fact that Bowie played on the Thursday night and the arena was nearly empty { later found out about the traffic }

i have to hold my hand up as I have good mates with some of the Supervisors from Specialized Security
and they are very professional but this was long before Security Industry Authority came into power so they
could hire anyone + as I was in the WBC Security would not have been hassling me in the first place.

Actually there was various Teams of stewards as I know the WBC had formed a steward company so I suppose its just your Donald Duck.

That was the year the Sex Pistols played.

Your right working in a bar is more interesting although at certain events its more tricky than other events.

lucky enough the older I get the less problems there is as jokers will go out their way to avoid me - you can spot them in the crowd shuffling along the length of the bar trying to pick a  young server - as this may indicate they may be a runner or trying to pass a counterfeit note I will track them and will take over the order and get them to pay up front - they hate it but there is bugger all they can do and some when asked to pay up front will claim they have forgotten the order and will walk off and never return.
