Home world music festie in Devon has some great artists (Bassekou Kouyate, Asere) who are playing on their main stage/performance space  with no PA... not even a vocal mic! I have to say I'm loving this idea (its nice and small... only 500 tickets) so should be able to hear OK and the vibe will be super intimate!! So I was just thinking about who else is doing or has done this? I know WOMAD did a couple of these a while ago but don't know of any others. Any one out there been to anything similar?

Probably quite a few smaller folk festivals will have some performance space that is totally acoustic, Oxford I'm sure.  I went to Skipton Folk Fest a couple of years ago and they had a PA free stage (not main) there.
