Got this email from Stanley Donwood regarding the artwork he is doing for this years Glasto

Any Radiohead fans will know the close link between Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke. Above this the email listed new artwork for Atoms For Peace (Thom's new side project)

Are they worthy of a rumour? Anyway if nothing else here might be some unseen artwork?

I was thinking exactly the same thing - but then I am a bit of a Radiohead geek...

I was hoping my first post would be something other than rumour-mongering.....

Radiohead.com has a post from Thom on Monday of the office chart headed:

"when you're not in the office_ you're in the park"

2+2=5 and all that.

I can't believe even after I started this thread I still managed to miss this special guest thinking it would be the strokes after someone posted it would 100% be them!

I didn't see the post about 'when you're not in the office, you're in the park' before the festival. I also overheard a woman talking about Thom Yorke's Harrowdown Hill song earlier that day but didn't think anything of it.

Was gutted when I found out I had missed it.

how did i miss this thread & hint? missed the Park slot on Friday, as was sure it was The Strokes on Saturday.
my 3 biggest shocks/disappointments of an otherwise brilliant Glastonbury were:
1) Bono's back injury one month prior
2) finding out whom i had missed out as the friday special guest, while i was enjoying the Black Keys
3) still devastated on saturday from (2), but thinking at least i've got The Strokes up at the Park right after The National, but then seeing those mini flags being passed around announcing Biffy Clyro instead

this whole Strokes rumour thing? was it orchestrated by Glasto to get us off the scent re: Thom Yorke? it almost became a joke of sorts, as when I was up at the Bumble Inn on Sunday, awaiting to see who that special guest was, one of the attendants ('crowd control' women) insisted it was 'someone from the strokes'. She didn't know any better and it was what she had been told...

i fell hard for the strokes thing all weekend. even thinking they'd show up for Julian Casablanca's gig on sunday.

Park Bumble inn 'special guest' was Lou Rhodes by the way, which was a pleasant surprise as i had missed her friday slot. she was brilliant.

I just logged onto these forums about an hour before the gig and that's how I knew it was Thom.  Didn't actually enjoy the gig because I knew it meant I was missing Hot Chip.  Missing Hot Chip is my biggest Glasto regret since missing Radiohead in 97!  Irony eh?

I heard the soundcheck while chilling at my tent: you've never seen me move as fast: amazing! Gutted for all those who missed it but I'm fairly sure if ME has really booked the 3 pyramid  headliners, that one of them will be the 'head!

Can't effing wait- now if I can just convince the wife to let me go!

In contrast, Missing Radiohead was my biggest Glasto regret since missing Blur for the Prodshity and Echo and the bunnymen last year!

But, having said that and having never heard of any of Hot Chips stuff, I was really pleasantly surprised by it, it was a great party atmosphere and got me in the right mood and mindset for my favourite live band in the world who were on shortly after. What an evening. (Please tell me you saw the 'Flips!  )

I agree, Hot chip were great but I would rather of seen Thom Yorke coz I would loved to have seem his solo album live. Just a shame I didn't know he was playing. Ce'st la vie and all that...

You didn't miss Radiohead, it was Jonny and Thom.  What I mean by that is it was mainly Eraser stuff, which most of the crowd didn't seem to know, plus a couple of Radiohead songs with most of the parts missing.  For example Arpeggio seemed really empty without the other three playing.  No backing vocals, for instance.  I know a lot of people enjoyed it, especially Karma Police, but it most definitely was not Radiohead.  Don't feel too bad.   There may have been more Radiohead songs, but left and caught the last 1 1/2 songs by the 'Chip.

And I didn't see  the 'Flips, I went to see Gorillaz and seemed to be one of the minority who thought it was a triumph, not a let down.
