Some bands seem to fit perfectly with others and would be better suited to follow each other. Scissor Sisters/Pet Shop Boys, Editors/Muse instead of the line up planned this year

In 2008 there was a couple of times when 3 or 4 artists played after each other that were of a similar vein and it was a great few hours and the chance to chill. It also stops footfall which is a real problem during the monsoon season.

It just struck me that at this festival, I don't seem to be in one place for more than 2 bands.

Anyone else stressing over seeing artists that should be joined at the hip or am I just being an old fart that would rather have time to catch his breath a couple of times in 24 hours  :P

yeah ideally i'd like to see all the bands i want to see consecutively on the same stage.  that'd be a pity for anybody who isn't me, but thems the breaks i suppose.

nah, i like a reason to visit many different stages and areas, you never know what you'll stumble upon on the way/way back.

I quite like the fact that the acts seem to be disparate over the course of the day, hopefully it will mean I will get to see more of the site.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all over the bloody place everytime I'm at Glastonbury. But 18 hours walking is a long time for an old git.
I think the longest I will be in one place will be Faithless and Stevie Wonder.
I had it in my head that they were starting to plan similar artists together to stop so much movement round the site after such appalling weather but seems it's back to normal.

Anyway, I guess it's only my opinion that the bands following each other aren't a great line up. others will see the line ups as being perfect

I agree actually, in some ways its awesome I get to see the different stages but in others it means some terrible clashes in part to get to bands I want to be in the thick of it for :P Such as life I guess :P It does give me a chance to catch some bands I might not normally have suppose :P

I agree Mr.Puppetmode, i think they have done it on purpose to make the festival appear as diverse as possible. I think it will make it harder to get to each stage as more people move round.

The conspiracy theorist in me says it's to get people moving around the site.... regularly moving past all the food places and stalls selling stuff.  More people passing by, means more people buying things, means bigger profits, means bigger plot fees etc...

i also think it's to keep people moving, but only to avoid horrendous crowds building up at one particular stage. it's something i've seen in the pyramid line-ups for years - last year, for example, they lined up dizzee rascal between spinal tap and crosby, stills and nash...
