Muse are a very good band and I love all their albums, especially Absolution, Blackholes & Revelations and Showbiz. They have their rocky songs but also their more laid back tracks. A very diverse band who are fantastic live

[sarcasm]Thanks for posting this [/sarcasm] you're making my dilema so much harder. Do I see Muse or George Clinton? Both would be absolutely amazing, I am tempted to get super fit so I can sprint between the two stages and catch parts of each set.

They are likely to mainly play stuff from their newer albums so maybe listen to that more to get into them. If you get to really like their older stuff you might be disappointed at seeing them live now. This is why i'll probaby go somewhere else when Muse are on this year  

I really like the simple angsty rock band stuff of their first two albums but i'm not a fan of the grand-scale muscial Queen style stuff they are coming out with these days!

You're missing their best 2 albums for me.  Absolution and Origin of Symmetry.

For me although Black holes and revelations was decent and has some great tracks such as Knights of Cydonia, it was the beginning of the end of Muse. They used to be my favourite band, but I'm not into their new stuff that much.

Now they are way too pop and their albums sound more like a soundtrack to a broadway musical. Also I think they take the whole "give us the truth" message a bit too far.

Absolution is my favourite album but Showbiz got me into Muse, specifically Muscle Museum. Origin of Symmetry has probably the best alternative rock songs on it though such as Plug in Baby, New Born, and Citizen Erased.

I can't make my mind up what to see Saturday.  I half fancy Muse but have seen them before when they toured the good stuff and before they turned into a piss poor Queen tribute.  I fancy seeing Lightning Seeds as I love Avalon as a venue and think it will be a great singalong.  There's other stuff too.  This was one dilemma I thought I'd got sorted too but it's come back to haunt me.

If you like Muse's albums then go and see them, they are absolutely superb live (if your into them of course)

Hopefully because its glasto it'll be a more rounded set than the pne used on the Resistance tour, the new album has a few ropey songs on it to say the least.

+1 Origin of Symmetry is full of win, it has my two favourite tracks on there to (New Born(Which is just immense and I think sums up all of what Muse does in one song ) and Citizen Erased (Just epic).

All the albums are good, I would start with HAARP to get a good feeling for them and watch the dvd (I actually only got this one at the weekend! and the DVD is awesome!). Then maybe listen  to The Resistance and Black Holes and Revelations as the sets are more about these, though at glasto maybe a greatest hits set more except with the epic Exogenis in full from Resistance. Then work your way from showbiz, I only got into muse at Black Holes and Revolutions and mostly ignored Showbiz (And absolution for that matter, still not really into that one though!). What a mistake I finally listened to Showbiz after seeing them at the O2 and hearing cave and its amazing, Muscle Museum is just an awesome track (A track I had heard loads but never thought as Muse's weird).

I love the detail of this! Uber fan much?

They are just awesome though, can't wait to see them live

btw has anyone else heard their new song tonight?? I think it's ace, shame it's from bloody Twilight though

I would say I have become a bit of fanboy since seeing them at the O2 in the autumn (I didn't really get into them at all until I saw them at V in 08 and only sort of knew the big singles .)


I hate its from Twilight, and maybe thats influencing me a bit, but I did find it going bit to far off into this new Queen direction, its going to do nothing to win over those who hate the resistance thats for sure (I think it would been cool as a B-Side to a released of Eurasia though!)

I'm not a mega Muse fan, but i can't deny they are by far one of the best live bands i've ever seen. They were born to do massive shows like headlining Glastonbury. There is no excuse for not being there on Saturday night (unless the England game goes to pens).
