I wish everyone would leave their kids at home. The only 2 kids in the world i can remotely claim to like are my 2 nieces. Annoying little bastards otherwise.

My son first went at 3 mths.  He's now 7 and my daughter will be 4 next week.  They have been every year since birth. At Glastonbury alone my children have seen REM, String Cheese incident, John Fogerty, CSN, N Young, Springsteen and a thousand other acts, many of whom you don't usually get this side of the pond.

WHY... would you think to not bring your children.

I have been to GB since 86 (only missed 2 years) and never thought for one moment not to take any future children.  You OWE this opportunity to your children.  I have been lucky enough to have stood in that hallowed field at Woodstock.  The only problem was I was about 35 when i did it.  how much sweeter to have done that when I was 2 in 1969!

You know it's the right thing to do.  Our children are the future of rock.

(Not, I hasten to add, pop... which we all know is manufactured garbage.)

(Oh, and Mr Eavis - PLEASE get S and G, Kate Bush and Cat Stevens on main stage... and a reformed Sleater Kinney!)

I LOVE YOU!!! We too have taken our son to Glasto every year since he was born (10 weeks, 14 mths and this time 2yrs 2 mths) and he has loved every single minute of it, dancing, doing air guitar and constantly going up to people to say hello, in fact I think it's made him more outgoing/gregarious than we ever thought possible! He's also done RATM day at Reading, Metallica day at Sonisphere and a couple of Notting Hill Carnivals.

Plus Glasto is obviously the best for kids facilities-wise and they are right and generous to let them in free for so long-we are taking him to Download this year and they have the f**king cheek to charge £85 for a child ticket regardless of age! Trouble is we HAVE to take him as AC/DC and Aerosmith are headlining and it is highly likely they will be dead when he is conscious enough to make his own gig choices.

They don't make them like that anymore and we must allow the next generation to see what real rock legends are all about before the music industry disappears up its own overpriced gig ticketing, ipod track picking arsehole. Bloody good call on Cat Stevens too, apart from Led Zep surely the perfect Glasto act? Shame he seems to have turned into a money-grabbing git too though ):

I can assure you that a festival matures kids.

This is so true- our philosophy has been that if Oscar can behave properly by respecting other people in a field of over 100,000 then he will be able to handle himself properly in most aspects of life!

That weekend the Stranglers where headlining the last night, and I had taken them camping for the week. On the last night it was pissing down with rain and I was dancing around like a mad bastard. I turned around and my daughters where sat there, obviously tired and very wet. I took them by the hand to take them back to the tent and the pair of them turned around and said "You have worked hard this week, and you only wanted to see the Stranglers so we will be OK for now"

You could not buy a moment like that :P

I love you too and had to say reading this post was the first time I have ever had tears in my eyes reading a messageboard! I look forward to the day when Oscar will return the favour to us in the same way.

I can't believe how many nimby's responded when we first enquired about taking him 3yrs ago and the funny thing was they tended to be childless!

Respect to both you guys and hope to see you around, we'll be camped in family near the farm and you may see me and Oscar walking around the Pyramid on Sunday both dressed as Slash!

Tried to post/attach a couple of photos but only seems to accept links?
