2007 i think was the year that had kings of leon, arctic monkey's, the killers and arcade fire playing. This can't be beaten
No Kings of Leon, that was the year after. Here's what I watched (the times don't seem to tally with what wiki says but I know what I saw):

Friday:
The View, Modest Mouse, Gogol Bordello, The Automatic, Bright Eyes, Magic Numbers, Bloc Party, The Fratellis, Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys - Everyone was great apart from the Fratellis, they were proper dire, at least I saw Harry Enflied at the front though. Band of the day was Kasabian, they were the real headliners

Saturday:
Pama International, Klaxons, Babyshambles, Paul Weller, Editors, The Killers - Everyone was good apart from Klaxons who couldn't make it happen on a big stage and Killers because the sound was too low so no bugger could hear it. Band of the day was Babyshambles, they did a class set when I half expected it to all go tits up.

Sunday:
Marley Brothers Present 30th Aniversary of Exodus, Billy Bragg, Manic Street Preachers, Kaiser Cheifs, The Who - Every band was brilliant, Manics stole the show though.

I love this years line-up. I don't want to see any of the headliners really but there are so many other bands that I'm excited about. It's the best line-up I'll have witnessed at Glasto.

I think the best lineup was 1998. I haven't been of course but according to wiki, my 3 favourite bands were playing that year (Blur, Pulp and Portishead)  :P

2003.  REM, Radiohead, Moby, Manics (before they turned shit), Supergrass, SFA, Doves, Turin Brakes, Suede, Beth Orton, The Coral, Damien Rice, The Music, Inspiral Carpets, Kings Of Leon.  Some of my favourite acts of all time in there.  Would have also liked to have seen Polyphonic Spree and De La Soul.

I didn't go but still remember looking at the line up and wishing I'd made the effort to get a ticket.  Some of the performances I caught on TV blew me away and I kicked myself all weekend for not going.  Still do.

OK, I'll rephrase "Manics (as they were on the cusp of turning shit).  Better?  :P

I've gone for '95, on paper it might not be my favourite line up now, but it was the first time I went and though every year has been amazing, I don't think anything can top that first one for the pure mindblowingness of the whole thing.

I wasn't there, but 1994's Sunday Other Stage of Blur, Pulp, Oasis, Radiohead, Echobelly, Inspirals would've just been bloody awesome!

I voted for 1997 because it was my first Glasto and Radiohead were amazing. In reality there is something great every year. I'm sure 2010 will be no different.

Yeah but its not really a matter of "what was your favourite Glasto?" but more a "if you could pick a line up for a festival which of the previous ones would you pick?"

Now, thats not to say that the line up of your first one was not your favourite overall line-up. It simply maybe.....but the choice should be made on line-up as opposed to experience/memories etc  :P

95 was the best Glastonbury of all for me, could not have hoped for a better line up of bands at the time, not necessarily the best headliners but its not all about the headliners
