I went along to the NME tour in Oxford last night just out of curiosty as I have neglected we bands just recently. I was pleasanty suprised, seemed to be a massive 80s resurgence going on tho. Darwin deez, a bit cheeky and poppy and dare I say it a lot crap. Everything everything were pretty good, nice falsetto vocals and clever lyrics, not enough presence tho.  Headlining were hurts, absolutely brilliant, gloomy, and synthy, a bit like a cross between depeche mode and early pet shop boys. They were in all the ones to watch lists at the begininng of the yr despite not havingnpalyed any shows, very well deserved tho.  I would urge anyone that gets the chance to catch them live to head along. They have a few songs on YouTube, the new single is a belter.

Going to Koko next week but have seen HURTS and Darwin Deez already, Darwin is good for 20 minutes but the album isn't strong enough yet, some very good songs.

But I agree about Hurts, were fantastic when I saw them in Feb, if you like synth-dark pop that is.
Will also see them at The Great Escape next weekend.

I very much expected them at Glasto but probably next year once they are known.

Wonderful Life, Unspoken, Silver Lining, Illuminated, Blood, Tears and Gold are all fantastic. Not sure about the next single, probably my least favourite song of theirs so far. Album will catapult them to mainstream masses so catch them whilst you can.
