I usually take flavoured vodka or spirits of some sort, but after a bad experience with the stuff I'm sticking to lager and pear cider. I might take a bit of JD in a hipflask but nothing else really. I don't really do a lot of drinking at festivals.

Can I get a decent Gin & Tonic at Glastonbury? Or in fact Pimms?

this is a good question

I have a plastic bottle of gorden's gin that has served me well over a few festival seasons now. that plus a few tiny cans of schweppes tonic water seems to do the trick at a festival.

i imagine while walking around, i'll try a few of the days, try that brothers cider and see what else takes my fancy

I think I remember seeing Pimms somewhere, though I'm not sure where. Not entirely helpful I know :P

Is Pimms any good then? Never tried the stuff.

I assume you're quite young. The time will come when all your mates are getting married and the bloody stuff will get forced down your throat at every single reception.

It *is* quite nice though, when they make it up with all the fruit and whatnot. Not very macho...

Pimms is a great welcome drink for Glasto.  Tent set up, Pimms jug out, frozn fruit with pimms and lemonade poured on top.  Chill!

I usually have a couple of bottles of apple sours (decanted into plastic) and a bottle of my choice spirit of the time for extras. Get anything else there, saves carrying the heavy stuff.

I always treat myself to a bottle of Calvados, a shot of which is perfect in a Hot'n'Spicy and for making friends.

I will take a litre of Gin & some tonic for the days with 2 litres of JD for the nights. Can't be arsed with carrying beers so will be mainly buying it onsite as and when required.

Pre ordering my Burrowhill to take with me will commence one week before the festival. I cant afford the £4 pints so £6 for 4 litres delivered to my door will sort me out very nicely :P

Skittles vodka is for amateurs.  Jelly baby vodka's miles nicer and much easier to make 'cos you don't have to filter out any crap.

As for my preferred drink at Glasto, it's got to be Red Bull and rum.  The only dispute is what it's called -- we can't decide between 'Redrum' or 'Rumbull'.

so far my plan is to take a litre of wiskey and a litre of dark rum, a box of red wine and either 8 cold cans of pear cider or larger for the footy on the wednesday. Might freeze up a couple of bottles of asda's own red bull to go with the rum.

Its gorgeous

Beer for the camp, I'm with you there.... but port?

I love drinking the odd glass of port. I never thought about bringing it to Glasto. You could be on to a winner there phil.

Ok, now for my confession. Beer for the camp. Whiskey (Usually about a litre, litre and a half. but now the embarrassing bit. A litre of Baileys :P

*Homer impression*

Baileys... ahhhhh

I assume you mean MINT Baileys?....

I too would like to know how many skittles or Jelly Babies are required for a 75cl bottle of vodka... no doubt some vodka gets 'lost' in the process...!

With any new sweet, I start with one sweet per shot (25ml).  Obviously, you need to do some 'experimentation' (read: boozing) to get the correct recipe.

One jelly baby per 25ml is about right, possibly a bit too many.  I imagine you'd need two or three skittles for the same volume.

Its more for a later at night wandering drink - I got the idea off here from someone and had a couple of glasses last week and thought actually...

I like a single malt but dont like it out of plastic and not keen on blended whisky with a mixer
