Saw this band at the Trinity Centre in Bristol a couple of years back and was really impressed. Didn't catch up with them again until I heard 'Odessa' from their new album 'Swim' on Six Music a few weeks back. Love the song and getting into the album too, now. Been playing Odessa on my show. Perfect lazy, summer's day stuff. Anyone else into them? Any idea if they might be making an appearance at Worthy Farm this year?

I saw them play at World Record Store day and loved them. Would love to see them play an actual club/tent at glastonbury rather than a daytime gig. Haven't seen them on the line-up this year? I imagine if they were playing they'd probably have been announced by now - I'm guessing they're not really big enough to be a surprise addition?

Can't see them on the clashfinder.....

Checked their myspace & they are touring Europe the week of Glastonbury with space on the Sat & Sun.  So keep your fingers crossed they might still pop up!

Yeah I think it's a pretty great place to see a band too, being a former church, with such good acoustics. Saw Spiritualized there a couple of years back during Dot to Dot. Same day as Caribou actually. 65days of Static looks perfect for there, too :P

Wow that would be perfect for Spiritualized - they used to have it as a Dot to Dot venue? I only moved here at the start of last year so this will be my second DTD... sack off the Anson Rooms as a venue (too far up the hill) and give me a church with massive stone walls and that eerie kinda feeling you get any day!

Yeah - the Dot to Dot I went to - 2008 or 2007 used the Trinity Centre, Fiddlers, The Louis, The Academy and Thekla. Was excellent but some ridiculously long journeys involved. Had to used the car to get between them all and make the ticket worthwhile, which meant not drinking. Trinity to Fiddlers is about 2.5 miles. Good weekend though.

08 was apparently the first time they did it in Bristol - a mate of mine was saying the other day how Fiddler's was a bit of a trek. I suppose they replaced that and Trinity with the Cooler (not an amazing venue tbqh) and the Fleece. And I complained about the journey from the Cooler to the Fleece (a mile max?). Anyway. Quite liking the look of this year's lineup - I'm gonna stay in the night before, have a good breakfast/brunch before I head out and do my band research in advance so I'm in top form for a long day. Are there any names on the bill I should be listening to? My list so far has about four bands on thus far :/

Yeah I'm no fan of the Cooler at all. To be honest I've not looked at this year's line-up. I stopped going when it was changed to one day. I'll have a look, though, and see if there's much I've heard of or would recommend.
Edit: Just had a quick look and there's nothing much there that I've heard of. Egyptain Hip Hop seem alright and Eighties Matchbox are usually worth watching. Have no time for Ellie Goulding, I think Zane Lowe's an inssuferable sycophant, and there's not really anything else there that I've heard of. I don't really have my finger on the pulse with current-day indie music all that much though.

Listened to the first 2 songs of the new album and I have to say I am very impressed. "Sun" is an absolute quality track, really really good. Didn't really think much of Odessa though, it didn't really do much to me. But I will be checking it out on Spotify and deciding wether it should be my next purchase. It's a choice between this, The Tallest Man Alive who is a quality singer songwriter from Sweden or The Nationals new one.

I would deffo be there if they played (clashes permitting of course)

I love this band - really creative musicians to say the least - I hope they play somewhere as I'm sure they would go down well

Dan Snaith is the man behind Caribou. He used to be known as Manitoba until he was forced to change the name to Caribou. If you like Swim look up his Up In Flames album from about 2002 - its even better imo. Anyway, hope he gets a spot at Glasto somewhere. :P
