Wouldn't mind but seen a few times already so no big miss.
What's intresting is where the f**k could they play though? Maybe Sunday Main, as they must be far too big for FR stage unless they are a NME headliner like last year with Faith No More & Lostprophets?

Nah, when Zane Lowe made the first announcement he confirmed the three bands currently topping the R1 stage are the headliners. I think they're pretty much set in stone.

Ash headlining the FR stage on the GnR day would make the line-up perfect.

I can see it happening as they are no longer the powerhouse they were but they are playing big venues and headlining John Peel stage at Glasto and the other headlienrs are Jamie T/Groove Armada. Jamie T was 2nd on NME lat year and it's about what I would expect them to be so maybe under NME headliner.
With them being short of bands on Sunday main I'm leaning there but if they were suited to Lock Up/Dance I'd say they would be one of the headliners as the FR is still a small stage and it would get rammed if they are upgainst Arcade Fire.

I think it was '96 when Ash had the best festival t-shirt for years "3 boy hard-core action"
Oh yeah and they're great live.

Ash may not have mainstream success anymore but are still popular with the reading/leeds festival crowd. I think the tent would be rammed for festival republic and thye could easily pull a decent crowd high up in the radio 1 tent.

Ash on the rumour list? That's good news. No idea where they'd fit on the line-up though.

Apparantly, at their Leeds Met gig the other night one of them said something along the lines of "We'll see you again in the summer at a well known near by festival."

This was a nice surprise when logged on today. I'd love to see them but not over GnR/Blink. FR on Saturday or slotted in somewhere please.

I'd love to see Ash but would never spend the like £23 they're charging for it, so this would be perfect.
