I am pretty sure that last year I saw a '12 Steps' tent up in the healing fields area, though it seems you've got quite a few other options as well in case it's not there this year.

Good luck.

A good luck message from me also.

Samaritans are onsite, but that's not really the same.  Bort's blog mentioned a 12 step tent in the healing fields last year also.

Following on from my earlier post about a 12 step place in the healing fields I thought it rang a bell from somewhere else so thanks for reminding me where I'd seen a pic

To the OP on this thread.

First off your not alone my friend, I would hazzard a guess that there will be at least a couple of hundred Acloholics in attendance after all there are circa 180k in a few fields.

Secondly if you feel you will be struggling at some stage Im happy to meet with you and discuss with you how i ruined my marriage through the abuse of alcohol and a variety of drugs, (if this was to help you of course, dont want to put a downer on your festival if your strong and doing well!).

I will be doing my second Glasto this year and I am determined to ensure it will be completely sober, have had relapses sure, havent all addicts of one type or another but Im determined this year will be sober.

Its coming to that time of year where ramping up the amount of meetings you do may be helpful to you, I met an inspirational bloke last year at the festival who had a similar backround to mine, addicted to a variety of stuff, he found buddhism to turn his life around, im not suggesting this is a path for you merely pointing out you neednt feel alone, I will be meeting him again this year for more inspiration with a bit of luck.

The very best of luck with Glastonbury in the short term, but more importantly the rest of your life and those involved in your life.

I will pm you my mobile number and if you want to call/text to meet this would be great, personally i find talking to someone about what spurred me on to abstaining as a way to gain strength during tricky times like festivals.

Make the call mate and mines a cappacino if you want/need support, plenty of stories to chat about to put you off opening a bottle!

If you decide to go it alone I wish you the very best of luck, and remember to enjoy yourself, you know you can without the sauce.

Appologies to the drinkers if this post sounded a little anti drink, it certainly wasnt meant to. :P
