One of those mushroom caps fell off while I was leaning on it last year, by the Croissant Neuf bandstand.

I put it back the best I could.

another really long, hard, funny and productive day today. spent the day sawing a large lump of the tree into 4 quadrants while being ganged up upon and bullied by a posse of rude Fresians. The highlight of the day for Ste was me screaming and losing control of my biggest chainsaw....i got hit on the elbow by an electric fence in the middle of a big cut. he thought it was hilarious and i felt as if i had had  a large dose of hardcore stimulants. livened me up no end.still, a good day. got loads done. now enjoying a well earned beer.

Have you ever met Andy who does the wood carvings at the Wickerman.

I will see if I can upload some of his work. Very psychedelic.

everything seems to be progressing ok. the hot weather here in Somerset is helping enormously as sanding green damp wood is a real pain in the ass.

may start on the hollow ash stick this evening.

i cut the bottom end off it last night so it is flat(ish) and so hopefully today i will be able to stand it upright. that will be followed by much humming and haaing by me with some support humming and haaing by various friends and neighbours. i'll let you know this evening if we get anywhere.

I've now put this thread on it's own bookmark, so desperate I am to see more piccys of your emerging work JotV.

I see you've got a few more fans here as well. So... Weds Thus??? What time is best to come up and check your work out? Of course I shall bring a wee bit liquid refreshment. Any others fancy checking out The Verge? Just say where and when.

Keep the picture coming James.

It looks like a giant monster rising from the depth of an alien sea, jaws about to close around a flying bird.

this morning someone patiently explained to me that i was living in some kind of time personal warp...............i should have said 5 weeks. DOH :P
So , i've gained another whole week to get ready!   phew.
