Megatripolis and Final Frontier at Club UK were my original stomping grounds. Amazing times and I'd agree that atmospheres at clubs aren't what they were. There are pockets of brilliance still these days though and the dance tents at glasto are usually superb!

I was a raver back in the day, from '90 to '96.  I went out regularly to all nighters, did speed and E, proper drugs, not this mcat crap!  I was slim and fit and could party like it was 1999, no problemo!

Now, I am knackered by 1am and completely dazed by 3am if I force myself to stay up!  I'm also quite a lot less fit and skinny :P  I'm pretty cool with most stuff but I don't think I could handle the comedowns any more :P

Blimey, I can totally relate - I could have written this post myself! For me and mine it was the Rythm Station in Aldershot, The Manor in Ringwood and a few months in Southern Spain. I was like a racing snake - danced all night and then spent the next day drinking tea and talking rubbish at a mate's. Never could cope with the come-downs though, which is why my relationship with Class As was never that close or prolonged. Nowadays I'm uber-lightweight and always the first to bed, but when it comes to Glasto I can out party everyone in my team, including the youngsters! 2008 I had around 7 hours sleep in 3 days and was still dancing when they dragged me out of the NYC Downlow and up the Hill of Doom at 7am on the Monday morning. I believe its all about pacing yourself and being with the right people and buzzing off the vibes - particularly if your partying with friends you rarely see. I am in training for this year already - getting lots of excercise, good food and sleep and banking some energy - I'm saving it all up for Glasto  :P

Never went to Stern's although all my mates did - I was a late starter - but I did have a New Yorker once and never, never had anything like it since! Awesome!  :P

2cb and indeed 2ci are well proper. Pity they are rare to come across nowadays. They were doing the rounds about 5 years ago but then loads of vendors in the States got raided and it kind of dried up.

IF that is the stuff I got last year I got a gram for £30. Shared it between 6 of us and I came home with about half of it left, we nicknamed it Cayli cos it tasted so sweet  :P

I doubt it very much, 2cb & 2ci becomes active at 0.10 - 0.25mg of 1000mg.

You would probably pay in the region of £180 + for a gram of the above.

Whatever it was it was really nice stuff, sent you on a real journey. Cleared my head at first, then after about 10-15 minutes we all just got the giggles, really uncontrollable. Then the stuff just gave me a clean buzz like nothing Ive had before, lasted for ages as well. Much better than any pills, trips or MDMA Ive ever had.

Am I the only one here who (alcohol aside) has never touched drugs, never had any desire to take drugs, never will have any desire to take drugs and doesn't understand the fuss or indeed the compulsion to ever take drugs?

I doubt you're the only one, I got through my teens and 20s with no desire to take drugs. Non of my friends did and I doubt we'd have known where to get them even if we wanted to.Booze and youthful enthusiasm saw us through some very good times. I was never anti drugs just not inclined

Then at the ripe old age of 32 I was offered a line, took my first E at 39.

When you're older sometimes it helps to have a little something to keep you going.

Edited to say.
Particularly helful if you're not fond of dance music but your boyfriend is. I know the exact moment they wear off as  I find myself saying "Why am I dancing to this shit?"

No offence to dance fans, just not my cuppa

The Glade Lounge is an absolute treat of a tent.
Glade lounge is brilliant, try club dada late for a nice treat,  had some great small tent late night things at Croissant Neuf, banco de gaia, double head.

Haha, I'm coming over all misty eyed thinking back to the nights of having just one pill , double speckled doves that would last all night and you would still be wrecked the next day and Clovers that made you feel like you were walking like Mr Soft from the Softmint adverts hahahaha, halcyon days of the lost weekend :P

I do miss all that but I'm also glad I'm out of it now.  I cant do it anymore, if I have a night on the booze and not much sleep I'm pathetic the next day and on the rare occasion I do 'go wild' I'm feeling like I have the Ebola virus for the next couple of days and I all I want if for death to take me away

In my short drug-taking honeymoon of shambala festival when I was 17, I seem to remember taking an E that sounds very similar to the old style ones, it was a home-made looking one and tasted incredibly rank, apart from something fun but speedy in Liverpool about a year back, I've never found anything as good since. Given that my last 2 experiences of pills have involved excessive throwing up, feeling cold and not wanting to move, I don't trust them any more, in fact there's not really many drugs I do trust, won't do ketamine now cos again, you just want to roll around on the floor, and all that mephedrone rubbish did was make me tell people my utmost secrets and keep me up to all hours, no thanks!

Wicked thread :P

This brings back memories.... New Yorkers, Rhubarb and Custards, Red and Blacks, love, friendship, camaraderie.

The days of waiting in car parks till 1.00am and then following a massive line of cars, to destinations unknown, just to dance in a field. Happy days indeed.
