Do you remember the days of dummies, gloves, whistles and hugging.
Are you like me, a shell of your former party self who now waits a whole year or sometimes 2 for the moments of madness that used to be a weekly occurence of years gone by.
Where do you party at Glasto?  Do you move to the current groove? or is it in your tent by 12.00 so you can get to the front of the stage by 6 in the morning with your chair?
Are you the leader of the next generation of revellers offering expert advice regarding all aspects of partying or are you the sad old git that everyone laughs at and ignores until they need there tent put up/down and then merely tolerated.

I was a raver back in the day, from '90 to '96.  I went out regularly to all nighters, did speed and E, proper drugs, not this mcat crap!  I was slim and fit and could party like it was 1999, no problemo!

Now, I am knackered by 1am and completely dazed by 3am if I force myself to stay up!  I'm also quite a lot less fit and skinny :P  I'm pretty cool with most stuff but I don't think I could handle the comedowns any more :P

Nope never raved in the 90's too busy with younmg children. Now I don't bother either. I like a long sleep at the festival and just spend my time chilling in the Green areas in my camp chair, wearing my sandals with white socks.

If I could get an old skool ecstacy pill I'd be so happy :P  The only thing would be choosing where and when to take it, I don't want to have a comedown at a fest and when I'm at home I'd have to choose a time when I didn't have to drive.  I'd probably end up with it stashed away forever!

I just save most of it up for Glastonbury these days, the party does not even start for me until the main stages close down, then it is:

Glade Lounge, Dance Lounge, The Park, Silent Disco and on to the south east of the site, if it is not daylight when I get back to the tent then I must have done something wrong.

Could not get any of my party to get up for breakfasts ciders at 06.00AM last year, pharr I dont know why they even bother to buy a ticket!!

Happy Hardcore oh yes I nearly went to Glow Ball @ Mass the other month, but the kids were ill so I could not make it, not that I was going to take the kids with me you understand.  Need to pick my moments these days!!!

I would absolutely kill somebody for an old skool refresher.
They still rate as my numero uno drug of my life.
I don't eat plant food so can not comment on that and i am not a horse so have stayed well clear of the ketamin but everything else was tick boxed and nothing compares.
If i had one now i would be in a similar dilemma regarding the where would i take it? Glastonbury definately, but where? :P

Old skool pills. If only. My wife had her first night on proper E at Glasto in the mid-90's - she only took a quarter (it was a right pain biting a bit off small enough!) for Primal Scream when they headlined the dance tent, promptly threw up and then danced her ass off for 6 hours. Those were the days.  :P

Oh yes indeedy!  happy days, Well the ones i can remember which isnt many.   I know i had a fabulous time, i know i partied like a maniac because there are friends of mine who tell me i did and apparently they were there to see it....i have  massive blocks of time i literally remember nothing of when i try to look back .
I have specific moments in time  though that still burn bright and i can still recall the allmost other worldly out of body feelings of being totally mashed on those early E pills, around 89-90.
I wouldnt have missed it for the world but im sensible enough to realise i probably couldnt handle those sort of highs and the madness that ensued for the hours following and then the  comedowns that came after  them  now im older,
:P  :P

I think I've got worse as I've got older, after having screaming babies you learn that you don't really need any sleep.

I managed to get some stuff last year, MDMA mixed with Acid, called it Fusion (shit name), closest Ive ever come to old school pills, that stuff was amazing.

Last year I arrived back to our camp in pennards from the stone circle sometime after sun rise on the friday morning  and i woke the australian neighbours who proceeded to hollar and shout about getting no sleep. I was tripping my tits off asked them all if they were from new zealand and would they like a line of posh. They spent the rest of the festy pissing on our tent whenever they thought we was out and about. My mate woke up having his head pissed on, which i thought was hilarious!
Just shows .........?
They also kept singing the theme tune to neighbours????????????/WTF?

Am I the only one here who (alcohol aside) has never touched drugs, never had any desire to take drugs, never will have any desire to take drugs and doesn't understand the fuss or indeed the compulsion to ever take drugs?

I was just the same, then a couple of years back I tried some, and spent 2 years at festivals in a little bubble. That was fun then, but I am back to the stage of not being bothered with them.

It's all very "meh"

edit: I don't touch weed either. It makes me aggressive :P

No you're not.

But I'm curious, why do you make an exception for alcohol?

Do not feel bad I doubt you are the only one. Perhaps you should try counselling for that. I felt like i was the only drug taker in Pennards last year. I could not find anyone to share a line with? i also tried giving away the 12 cans of stella that i had as excess. People were saying uuurggghhh Stella!  So i then new i was also the only stella drinker in Pennards. :P

Well, I say alcohol but that doesn't mean every single alcoholic drink.  Most are pap.  But I do enjoy a tasty pint of real ale, or proper cider.

One of my favourite things in life is enjoying the flavour of a nice pint of real ale in a relaxing setting.  The taste of hops with a fruity aroma is always a treat.  You see - I don't drink ale to get drunk.  I can happily have just the one, enjoy it and leave.  It's nice to get a bit tipsy, but that isn't why I drink it.

I enjoy the whole experience - the look of the liquid, the aroma of the hops, the citrus taste followed by the smooth aftertaste.  The variety is astonishing - from Adnams Regatta to Kelham Island Pale Rider via Ossett Silver King - all marvellous.  Always good to try new beers too.

And another bloody awesome thing about it is that I can do this whilst sat in a nice room surrounded by friendly folk, a crackling fire in one corner, a friendly dog in the other, the footy on the big TV, the jukebox playing some nice guitar-based rock in the other corner.

All helped of course by the fact it's legal.  I'm very lucky that my one drug of choice is a legal and - within the right parameters - socially acceptable pastime.
