Hot on the heels of the announcement that comedy megastar KEVIN BRIDGES - hailed as 'the best Scottish stand up of his generation' - has been lined up to appear at this year's RockNess festival in June, organisers today reveal the raft of talent from the world of comedy set to join him in an exciting new development at the monster three day Highland bash.

Taking place across the weekend in the quirky new Howard's End Pub - hosted by the legendary Howard Marks, Scottish Comedian of the Year Winner SCOTT AGNEW is set to transport the fun loving RockNess audience into his hilarious nocturnal world of misadventure and killer gags which is far from run of the mill by anyone's standards!

Joining Scott is a comedian likened to as the Indian Chris Rock, PAPA CJ. Bursting with attitude, energy and caustic observations about society, and with a string of sell out tours across the globe under his belt, PAPA CJ's material is fresh and up to the minute with a sting in its tail.

With a reputation as one of the top comics working the UK circuit today, award winning ROB HEENEY is a qualified Chemical Physicist, trained Systems Analyst, former taxi driver and International Table Tennis Player..lofty achievements none of which he says permeate through his style of bitterness and cynicism wrapped in a blanket of charm.

An out of this world entertainer...quite literally...CHRIS COX 'does tricks that would make Jesus proud' by bringing magic, illusion, contemporary mind reading and multimedia technology together to create a highly entertaining and very funny cutting edge show, earning him blanket five star reviews and a stream of celebrity fans including Ricky Gervais, Frank Skinner, Russell Brand, Danni Minogue, Kelly Osbourne and Agyness Deyn. Chris credits the Paul Daniels gift set received at age six as his inspiration.

Also on the bill, assuming duties as both compere as well as performer, is TIERNAN DOUIEB, a fast rising star whose infectious enthusiasm and uplifting anecdotes has seen him support Jim Jeffries on tour as well as unknowingly follow Robin Williams on stage - an experience TIERNAN described as terrifying.

Completing the inaugural RockNess comedy line up are two very special acts; MIKEY ADAMS, a Scot destined for greater heights with a string of acclaimed breakthrough support slots to his credit including an appearance at the Glasgow Comedy Festival as well as having worked with the improvisation troupe "Dance, Monkey Boy Dance", and Canadian MARTY MCLEAN, a unique comedian of extraordinary ability whose declaration of love for Scottish audiences is sure to gain him a roaring response at RockNess.

Festival Director Jim King says "We are all really excited to be introducing comedy at this year's festival in Howard Marks’ Pub. The talent announced today is some of the funniest out there on the comedy circuit and will bring a fantastic new dimension to what is definitely going to be the best RockNess yet. I can't think of anything better than sitting in Howard's End with a pint of organic beer laughing my socks off to these guys before popping over to catch some great bands on one of the music stages.”

Thank f**k for copy and paste.

Great they have introduced the comedy tent but 2 problems.......................

I visit a lot of comedy clubs and what we have here is an infancy problem.
This is a great introduction, but no real guaranteed calbre......and

What many starting clubs do is a "junior comedian" followed up by an open mic which gives a chance to reposte, makes for what can be a weak comedians window a chance for the crowd to blow some steam.
Something I think neeeded here.

MR King im easily your first lamb to the slaughter.

I am glad he has introduced this....(overdue personally) and I also know that years will bring in the big hitters of Bill bailey, Mark Thomas, Reginald D Hunter etc but thats the cross we must bear at the mo.
