i'm quite pleased with this booking tbh, i'd rather see her any day of the week then GaGa, if you don't like he... erm don't go?
she's got some catchy tunes, one of the most popular female acts of the past decade... so not really that much of a bad booking...
i may go see her depending on if i remember and cba but worth a look

hoils, on Apr 20 2010, 08:41 PM, said:Exactly! Jeez, would people rather Coldplay, Radiohead, Kings of Leon, f**king Kasabian et al every year?
No but, this year, as it was tipped as being extra-special, I would've liked bands of that stature being on the line-up. Regardless of how I feel about them, it would've blown every other festival out of the water and wouldn't have been beyond the realms of possibility.
There has been tale in the past of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and others offering to play for free and lots of well established bands taking massive cuts to their usual fee to play the festival.
Glastonbury has went some way to helping launch a lot of bands that are now household names, I'd have thought these people would've been called upon to return to create a stellar line-up that could not be compared to anything else in the world. We've got Dizzee Rascal and the Scissor Sisters 2nd headlining the Pyramid stage. I personally haven't really got a problem with it, but I can see how people are very pissed off and I think unless some of the TBA's and Special Guests are phenomenal, I shall stop getting my hopes up on anything the Eavii say again.

fowls, on Apr 20 2010, 08:47 PM, said:I don't get why people are getting so outraged. How can this be any worse than Lady GaGa?
I think its got to do with the 40 year expectations. I think people expected more "legends".........unrealistically maybe, but it was hyped up A LOT so maybe not as unrealistic as some make out;
The fact that she is 3rd from top on the Sat (GaGa played 3rd from top on the Fri on the Other and people moaned then also);
The fact that she is a "pop" act and will be followed by a "pop" act and then Muse.........This does not sit well with a lot of people

Fantastic news! Like Kylie she's more than just pretty and I love her voice (more than Kylie's). Unlike Kylie she can play guitar and a bit of drums I think. Like Kylie she puts on a great show. Chill folks, it'll be great fun. Can't believe I'm thinking of missing the football!

meh, it all bollox. the 40 year thing was mentioned as an off the cuff thing once by the evis's. The hype thing has been generated purly by the crowd who want huge names in every slot who HAVE to fit into their taste, whis isnt gonna happen....
personally, ye, there is a lot of drab (which shakira isnt included in, though i wont see her) but lets be honest. iv looked at the line up, and the projected times, and i am gonna certainly gonna appreciate the odd lil time i have off from seein something good, and il use that time to recharge for the next thing i wanna see.
people need to realise there isnt 400+bands they will make an effort for, and make an effort to understand the scale of whats goin on here.
i like a lot of bands/artists that are playing, and i know im gonna be pissed at missin someting at somepoint
