We're delighted to announce that Colombian pop superstar Shakira has been added to the line-up for this year's Festival. She will appear on the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday of the Festival (June 26th).
Says Emily Eavis: "Shakira is not only an amazing pop star but also socially and politically forward thinking; she's working incredibly hard for good causes around the world. We feel honoured to have the she wolf herself come to Worthy Farm!"
Says Shakira: "I'm really looking forward to playing Glastonbury this year and being a part of their 40th anniversary. Glastonbury is famous for being one of the best festival crowds, so I'm sure I'll have a great time."
For more information on Shakira, head to shakira.com. Or, to read about the work of her charity - which runs schools for underpriviledged children in Colombia - go to barefootfoundation.com.

3rd headliner?
is this some kind of sick joke or has Glastonbury really lost it.

I'd rather watch her than Muse. But I guess she's 'too poppy for Glasto' isn't she?
Seriously though - I doubt I'll go and see her (depends what else is one, but I'm not ruling it out), but I think it's an ace booking. Adds to the already extremely diverse line up.

Here we go again.....
I really wanted to keep an open mind this year, Got a few bands playing i love Muse, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Co & Ca etc, but when there were rumours of Pink Floyd, TCV, Pearl Jam, Wolfmother. And we get Shakira, Scissor Sisters 3rd and 2nd headliner, and a mediocre at best line up its just disappointing and i know im not the only one thinking it.
