Soulwax main stage...

Having soulwax main stage is a major boob in my opinion. The sound at the main stage is notoriously bad, and it won't suit the lighting effects at all. I'm a major fan of the band but, they're much better in a tent, don't think it will work that well.
However, I hope I am wrong!

i don't really think they need lighting, seen some videos of them playing on outdoor stages and they look good. i'm quite glad they're playing on the main stage, i'm looking forward to it.

Soulwax will be amazing on the Main Stage especially if the sun is still shining! They've did the tents 3 years in a row and have always been great so maybe it's time they get a chance on the Main Stage.

i've been saying this for ages!
Having seen them at bestival last year outdoors and in the evening light it was still good and they made the stage their own, i just think it would be better in a tent in the dark!

I agree with this being a bad idea..
Unfortunately, the team dealing with the sound of the main stage have an absolute nightmare as the stage is exposed to cross winds.Fatboyslim 08 is a prime example.. Where tracks would be semi faint, and then two seconds later it would immediately loud because the wind keeps changing speed and direction!

Prodigy last year aswell. Some bits were awful but most of it sounded fantastic. I still reckon Soulwax on the main stage will be excellent going by that Bestival vid. Just hope for some great weather for when they are on and for the whole day, puts Leftfield's set into a wee bit of a concern if the wind does start to play havoc.

Acts are always better in tents, end of.
No matter what they do they do it is impossible for the engineers to make the lighting work as good as it would be in a tent and the same applies to the sound.

I hope it works even though i can't picture Soulwax on a big outdoor stage . Still, i won't judge til i've checked it out.

also, leftfield most definitely wouldn't be playing unless the sound is perfect.
they've always been perfectionists with that.

Well obviously they can't but I'm sure technology plays a big part in allowing them to have the best sound possible and to a specific standard, regardless of the weather. Some of the best performances in the world are played outside in the likes of stadiums or even Glastonbury's pyramid stage and in the pissing rain and wind and still sound incredible.
Anyway, Leftfield are going to be so f**king loud it'll take a hurricane to drown them out!!

Overall, it's better for lighting and sound to have them in a tent....but it will be a great experience seeing them outside on the main stage for a change.
I've hardly been at the main stage the past 3 years cos i've not been interested in the majority of acts on it, but i reckon Soulwax will be outstanding!
