He's touring a good bit this summer, his new album is brilliant. The mans a breath of fresh air compared to most of the shite being released these days. He's also been around the block quite a few times and is very profound and poetic.
I'm definitely going to check him out at EP.
My question is would he fit into Rockness where he available?

I never heard of him before but bloody hell, he's been making albums since the 70's!!! Downloaded and listened to his newest album 'I'm New Here' and it's incredible. Good shout.

Aye my brother got me onto him, said he was a cult hero back in the late 70s early 80s, the mans somewhat of a legend. Check out his back catalogue on youtube, its damn impressive , especially if your into that kind of music. His new album is the business alright. Really looking forward to seeing him live.

Excellent shout. He'd be a great addition. Must give the new album a listen. Went to see him in Glasgow at the Pavillion years ago only to be hit with a sign on the door saying he'd been busted at Heathrow and deported back to the USA. Did his father play for Celtic? Someone told me that.

Aye. Says so on wiki:
Scott-Heron's father, Giles "Gil" Heron of Jamaican descent, nicknamed "The Black Arrow", was a football player who, in the 1950s, became the first black athlete to play for Glasgow Celtic.
Thats mad eh

I think he'd be a great shout for Rockness. I'm going to see him on Wednesday night in Edinburgh but wouldn't mind seeing him again at Rockness at all.

His tour has been cancelled for now cos he can't fly into the country, I'll not be seeing him on Wednesday after all.
