cant be arsed with biffy anymore, first three albums are brilliant, i remember when they played all the way down back in 2005 on main stage early. was brilliant zoomed in on Simon Neils face and he had a tear in his eye.
Last two times i saw them they played the generic new stuff. pretty boring.
Although when they played 2007 in the tent and played Folding stars, that was epic!

I love how you slag off their "generic new stuff" and then talk about how epic Folding stars was which is perhaps their most comercial tune they have ever released.

yeah i know, i just thought it was a well written pop tune, and went down very well live. ALl the new stuff literally comes from the same "biffy" mold, as in they all sound much the same, when biffys USP back in the day was they varied with the styles.

On the tour what is coming up they are rumoured to be dusting off old tracks so this may translate into a few oldies for their Reading set, maybe 3 or 4 which isn't bad.

eradicate the doubt
wave upon wave
questions and answers
hero management
strung to your ribcage
got wrong
kids from kibble
with aplomb
toys toys toys
if any of these were played, i would love it. id just like it if they alternated the setlist every night. Green Day, Metallica dn Frank Turner have all done this when ive seen them. Have a few stapels, then add some surprises somwhere in the middle.

Saw Biffy for the fourth time on Saturday at the Empress ballroom in Blackpool. They were awesome as ever. Have to say though I was a bit disappointed in the crowd reaction to the older songs. They dropped in quite a few off the first three albums, which obviously made me happy, but every time they played an old song the audience went flat. I reckon 60% of the people in there didn't even know glitter and trauma. Was nice to hear some oldies being dusted out tho. Bodies in Flight being a highlight. They didn't play 57 which is the first time I have seen them where they haven't and they also finished with the Captain that I thought was odd.
Great gig tho. I guess I just have to get used to the fact the audience demographic for Biffy has changed. I remember seeing them on the Puzzle tour at Manchester Academy and it was f**king mental. Each successive time I've seen them the audience seems less into it and just want them to play Machines and Many of Horror.
Also they appear to have taken on a 4th member who was just a little gremlin playing a second guitar at the side of the stage.

I agree with everything you said!
I went to see them on Saturday night, my first Biffy gig since the Manchester Academy gig you also talk about in 2007 as the last time I saw them at Leeds they couldn't be arsed playing older songs so after seeing the band 10 times previously so I've given it a miss for a few years.
I was the only person anywhere near me singing Justboy etc so I just sang louder! Its disappointing that not many of the crowd that attend these days know the older songs but at least they did actually play some older stuff though 57 and All the Way Down would have made it an even better night, I think I will have to catch them again at Manchester Central in December and hope they play a few more.

Seen them in Southampton twice recently and the crowds have been poor for the old stuff. Went to a London show in between though and they were good, was suprised especially for Convex, Concave as it wasn't a big hit or anything.

Saw them in Bristol on Wednesday night, thought the old stuff went down well if i'm honest, from where I was anyway (but I was towards the front, where plenty of diehard Biffy fans seemed to be).
Bodies In Flight didn't really get much crowd action, but then I think thats cos it's shit. Anyway they were great live, definitely be seeing them at Reading.
