i like scissor sisters and i think they actually fit before muse.  neither band takes themselves particularly seriously and are all about putting on a show.

Yep, I can see the camp and pomposity fitting well together, its a bit like if Elton John was supporting Queen (in the Freddie days), just somehow seems right (character) despite being wrong (different music styles) and considering that the scissor sisters do get compared to Elton John and Muse with Queen.

With Pet Shop Boys, Scissor Sisters AND 4 poofs and a piano playing,  OMG the homo's are taking over Glasto this year, backs to the wall everyone.

Scissor Sisters = overtly theatrical
Muse = overtly theatrical

Not a dig, but they seem like an obvious fit to me...

My only fear (and sorry to drift off the subject of mindless tit for tat insults), is that muse spend an evening doing 23 minute epics with lyrics like bad sci-fi scripts, in the dark, while they show a grainy black and white film of enoch powell being spanked with salad items.  It could happen (and I bet I'm at least halfway right;)).

I thought Glastonbury was all about diversity? Why should they cater for people who wanna stand at one stage watching one genre all day?

I'll probably be going to see the Scissor Sister then leaving before Muse.

Scissor Sisters are not my cup of tea, but one of my chums is really happy to see them both and is delighted with this line up

Each to their own I suppose  :P

This thread went Politically Correct for most of it.  However none of you "PC" brigade have picked on the most obvious festival wrongness - Yes "Brothers" Cider.

When is someone going to suggest renaming it? Surely "None gender, skin colour or religious belief specific" Cider may be more appropriate to you do-gooders??

Get a life and treat it with the seriousness it doesn't deserve

It was clearly light hearted.

I don't see how its sexism anyway. I hate the idea that its bigotry to even mention differences. Yes Black people are different to white people ( I know this as my two of my  best friends (and I mean that) are black and Asian) and yes women believe or not are different to men.

I dont think its too out there to suggest that more women will like scissor sisters and more men enjoy football. Of course there is overlap between both, some will love both some will hate both but on the whole that will be the case.

You are quite frankly are guilty of the same idiocy shown by the likes of the Sun. We should celebrate our differences rather than pretending everyone is one and the same which is not only problematic but complete foolishness.

A huge +1.  Some of the people on here are quite frankly pathetic.  They are the same sort of people who ban St George Cross's from being hung out of windows during a sporting event and are as much part of the problem as any true racist is.

I hope Skunk Anansie fill the slot either just before Scissor Sisters or preferably in between Scissor Sisters and Muse. It seems to fit. Some sort of segue is needed I agree.

Genius! That would be an immense line-up!

Regardless of colour, race or sexual persuasion, you just can't ignore the fact that Scissor Sisters aren't very good,
I would have no problem dancing like a complete bandit to them on a sunny sunday afternoon.......

but not saturday night when I want proper music.....I am afraid this will be one of those you look back on and say "Scissor Sisters....wtf were they doing sub-headling, the lead singer works in Wilkos now"

There are some hilarious 'neighbours' in this years lineup.....

Willie Nelson followed by Snoop Dog

That one isn't so random.  Willie guests on one of Snoops songs and they have joined each other on stage before.  Personally I'm hoping for some collaboration  :P

As for Scissor Sisters before Muse its the best thing about Glastonbury is the diversity and the fact anyone can play before or after anyone.  There have been quite a few random moments over the years.
