There is NO link at all. Soad will not happen this year, reform in 2011 is my prediction.

yeah im with the above 2 posts
i think if all goes well and he plays a good set with the crowd loving it i could see SOAD reuniting after their hiatus and maybe (praying for this) then they will headline 2011. if not i could see them playing download 2011.

nah, serj is only interested in his solo stuff at the moment, although i think after hes finished touring his second solo album, system should be up and running

to be fair, that special guests slot last year turned out to be TCV.
they'll be at download next year. kind of surprised he's still youring. he's had no new material since playing two years ago as far as i'm aware

Ian Brown was special guests last year.
TCV were just a surprise gig

All post's so far correct...
Oh and original poster...if your theory is correct...wouldn't SOAD have also played in 2008?

Yeah, there's no way SOAD could get any higher than mid-NME if they reformed, so I think the original poster's spot on.

pretty certain he was joking but still.
System are fine. Serj solo is just fecking dreadful
Nevergot the fuss. Cool, for people who like him though...

I really like Serj's solo stuff, he was excellent at the forum in 08 (though not as good as Scars on Broadway at the Astoria(RIP) a few weeks later)
He wasn't great at Reading that year as the sound was a bit shit, in a tent he should be brilliant though.
I imagine Melvin will talk to him at the festival to see about a potential SOAD reunion possibly with a view to getting them to play next year. Could be what takes them to Reading rather than Download.

I would of thought SOAD would rather play Reading as opposed to Download because it's a more mainstream festival with a wider audience and has a reputation (no offence Download), like how Rage chose. I'd be worried about Sonisphere snatching them though, as they could get them a bunch of headlining slots for all of Europe.
