Thatcher's Katy is my current favourite, 7.4% and so very easy to drink! Will have to make a visit to this cider farm since I live so near but I can only get the bus to Lewes...
I'd love to have a cider orchard with a cider press one day, I can dream...

I too dream of this. The thing to do Ms Nyika with Middle Farm is to arrange a mini bus for you and all your uni chums. Make a day of it. There is the whole farm to see, the wonderful organic farm shop and then the 50 ciders to taste, forget which ones you like, go and taste them all again for free and then buy to take back to uni. Just book a driver, stay for a few hours, then get him to drive you back to Brighton.
When I was trying to organise the post Glasto meet to time with the Middle Farm cider festival last year this is what I would have arranged from my house for everyone.
I too dream of a cider orchard with a press one day...preferably not too far from Pilton so you can all stay in my back garden before and after the festival
Thatchers Katy Rose is too sweet for me but Katy straight up...lovely.
Thatchers Gold on tap at my local is pretty decent for a fizzy draught cider.

Any dry cider made by Thatchers is generally good. I like dry ciders though.
Thatchers heritage is also amazing.
Old Bristolian is really tasty but VERY dangerous.

Well, I like Kopparberg anyway, partly because I have a helluva sweet tooth and partly because it's made pretty near to where my Swedish relatives are from, so got a bit of a hometown connection thang going on. When i'm drinking cider I don't tend to stick to one particular brand, so i'll quite often switch between Bulmers, Magners, Strongbow, Aspalls, Kopparberg and whatever else is available (WKD Core is pretty nice as well). I only turned 18 in December, so not (legally) had the pleasure of the cider bus or many of the bars at Glasto, so I shall be widening my horizons this year, no doubt.
However, any self-respecting gentleman should consume at least two bottles of ice cold Kopparberg on any day when the sun is relatively visible, and i'd say that Glastonbury falls well within that category..

For lovers of Brothers and Kopperburg you should try rekorderlig which is sold at the cider heaven that is morrisons.
They do all the usual flavours but also winter flavours for a limited time. Had one last week it was cinnamon and vanilla flavoured, very nice.

Rubbish argument.
The smell of excrement and rotting kebab meat reminds me of the local town centre, but that doesn't mean I want to get on all fours and sniff the pavement.
Having the likes of Kopparberg in this thread is like some heathen bigging up Carling in the real ale thread.
I'm listening to Lucy. She sounds like she knows her cider.

Ashton Press for something very special and a bit rare.
Aspall's is lovely but still not too common.
Rattler from Cornwall is superb in bottles and draught. They also make a pear version.
Stowford press is my usual as widely available where I live.
Strongbow is the last resort and only for when I visit family up north and that is all there is!

i like this too!
could someone explain where both this and aspall sit on a scale of of fizzy mass produced rubbish or real cider?
i like the taste regardless but i cant tell if these are just mass produced ciders masquerading as a real cider or not.
