I thought I would start a positive thread about Leeds and Reading.
I am like others guilty of arguing and moaning on these boards so I thought it time for a thread about the mad and funny moments we've had at Leeds and Reading. A bit of nostalgia and giving the newbies an idea of what they are in for. We all know the legends of poo girl, and milly's 22 shags but there must be more!

i see 50 Cent getting bottled off in 2004 as a huge positive - at Reading

A friend was in the guest/VIP bar a few years back when it was attacked by about 30 kids all launching pints of piss over the fence from the main arena.
Would have loved to have seen it, he said all the bands, and 'hollyoaks girls' were running for cover as piss showered over them.
If anyone was there and took part give us a shout because that was an amazing idea. Should defiantly be repeated this year!

Everyone's probably seen it a million times but this is still one of the most epic things to ever have happened at Reading. Too bad I wasn't there :-(

Milly's 22 shags?
Anyway, I've never seen anything epic from the "golden age" of Reading and Leeds (which seems to be 2000-04 ish, before my time!) but I've seen performances that have gone down in history such as NIN, Metallica, RATM, The Prodigy and Radiohead.

My highlight of last year was an Aussie guy passing out in the middle of our camp, and when he finally came around we had a nice half hour talk with him about his quest to get a national holiday the day Steve Irwin died.

I've had so many good times at Leeds over the years and seen some amazing acts. It really pisses me off when people refer to it as a gig in a field or when people just focus on the bad side. Bad things do happen but the goodness normall out weighs the bad.

3 days of live music - tends to be sufficient in my attempts at a good weekend.
Oh and those worried about urine related incidents, the preliminary test after some liquid lands on you is essentially: "it's cold - we're good." Sucks if it's warm though...

First Leeds festival... and I am incredibly excited.
Went to a one day little festival around Norfolk...
Ended up lieing in a Tarpaulin thinking it was a boat because it was so wet.
And an epic conga line to some ska as well.
With bands I've heard of, and 3 days, and more people...
I feel I can only build on that xD

I once witnessed a drunk topless guy get strided by someone. he then proceeded to attempt to fight this guy with his trousers and underwear at his ankles whilst falling over them every 10 seconds. after 10 minutes he eventually realised it may be a wise idea to actually cloth himself and not fight with trousers round hid ankles.
anyone else witness this? was Reading '08, just outside the main arena, possibly the friday night after rage i think?

Seeing some guy literally crowd surfing, board and all
And the mass sledging down orange hill when it was muddy as hell
all withing 24 hours of me arriving at my first ever leeds festival
Gotta love it!

I don't know if it used to happen at Reading, nut the mass bottle fights used to be epic.
Sometimes lasted for hours. Basically someone tipped the bottle bins over at the main stage, everyone picks a side and then you fight. Think it died out after the move from Temple Newsam though.
And I guess it won't have the same appeal as it did when I was 15 lol..
Here's a clip of one I found...

Its the little things that make Leeds amazing, like waiting in the que to get in and a round of "BOLLLOOOOCCCCKKKKKSSSSSS" goes around

You finally know you've arrived when the "Bollocks" chant goes round the campsite like a Mexican wave.
