The new late night area was going to be my Friday headliner but Mos is tempting. He is playing at Koko next Thursday so might try and catch that if I can.

Absolutely delighted with that clash. I have nothing against U2 but I only like a small amount of their music and needed something to stop me seeing what for me would have been a potentially boring set.
Edit just noticed Chali 2na, amazing, I will not be moving for that stage on Friday

In the absence of anything better in future announcements then it's Mos Def all the way. I haven't listened to any of his stuff for ages though so I'll get Spotifying first to see what I've missed.

I'm going to have to miss Mos Def unfortunately which is a shame really since his latest album, The Ecstatic was one of my main favourite albums of 2009
However, I've got a feeling that U2 headlining is going to be something special espeically if they treat us with most of the classics

Am listening to his stuff for the first time now. All sounds pretty decent, and he seems like my calling for the friday night. What do folks reckon is a good place to get properly started with him (6-8 songs or a definitive album of his).
As of the moment, all I know is Stylo (incredible Gorillaz song he's on) and am impressed by the bits and bobs I've heard of his other stuff, just not sure where to start.

If only he was playing the Saturday then I'd be there without a shadow of a doubt. But I also think U2 is going to be a special moment, so I'm going to have to give him a miss I think.

All of Black on Both Sides is a good place to start , nice mix of styles in that album

Well even though I intend to see U2 I can help you out here. Just hope you haven't heard these already!
