rumour that someone "in the know" was on about last week, has Mr eFestivals himself heard anything to confirm or deny this?
My (admittedly small) links to the band have not confirmed this, and the flaming lips are not usually particularly secretive about this sort of thing.
I am going to tentatively call bullshit on this one for now.

On a related subject the Google Street maps van when it drove past his house caught Wayne in a bath on this front lawn with a sign saying The Blob in the Bath.
Apparently it was October last year and he was doing something for halloween!
U2 V Flaming Lips mmmmmmmmm

Whereabouts was this? I must have missed this last week... Headlining the Other Stage would be great, but then a nice sunny afternoon slot would be even better.

Sorry I cant remember the thread name, it was only a couple of days ago though. Basically just said that someones sources said the lips were headlining other stage on friday. Nothing more than that.
I would have to disagree with your timing though. The lips are miles better in the dark than in the light. Headlining the pyramid would be the ideal scenario, on the saturday please.

Not Friday!
One of my shifts is on Friday when the headliners are on. I couldn't care less about U2, but I love the Lips.
