Hmmm this is odd ... It could be that there may be a bit of trouble with a booking that they were due to announce?

Problems with crossing the t's and dotting the i's  :P

Alternatively, Pink Floyd called the farm last night and said they'd had a change of heart. As a result Muse are currently being asked to play a different slot.   :P

because they're announced in a way that suits the acts that are playing, and not announced to suit you. :P

How ridiculous of the paying customer to be interested and a tad irrated by not having any hard info on the product they've bought into.  :P

Who am I to assume that Glastonbury, whilst running for longer and bigger than others, doesn't seem to manage what many many many other festivals do, cater to their fans with a bit of info on who is definatily actualy playing.

I'm so sorry for having a tad bit of negative comment against your favourite festival oh mighty one!  :P

I bought into it for years without knowing who was playing until I arrived after a pretty gruelling 10 - 12 hour car journey.  As you say there are many, many other festivals who do cater for this kind of thing :P

Which was when?

You aren't serioualy suggesting that Glastonbury shouldn't announce at least some tiny little bits of the line up before the actual event are you?  :P

I was thinking of this earlier (in relation to the non announcement today). I am in the boat of dont give a f**k as I go to the G for the G but in comparison to so many if not nearly all other festivals, it must seem annoying for the folk out there who would like to have some idea of what they might be getting.

You will get a darn fine party whatever happens and who plays though so quit ya whinging! :P

You weren't promised any info yet, so you've lost nothing.

perhaps that's exactly why Glastonbury is bigger and more successful.

In days of yore as someone already said, the NME would have a poster that listed all the acts and it would be released some time around early June. The full line up is out in early June...how else can Halvin produce his clashfinder? :P

Yeah I know that. I'm going to Glastonbury as I've been to loads of festivals before and have had it reccomended a few times by others and it looks pretty decent.

But they don't realy have any excuse at being so lazy with announcements. Glastonbury isn't exempt from criticism.

I actually think that would be great fun, walk through the gates and get given the programme. Although it is always nice to get into the back catalogues of bands you find out are playing. I might try it one year, although I'd have to find something to do with all the time I spend on here.

That made me smile a bit, well done. Your humour is improving, if only slight.

87/89 and 92 I honestly did not have a clue who was playing.  95, was the first time I remember really knowing a couple of people that were playing beforehand and that was Oasis and the Stone Roses, tickets sold out and then prices went through the roof.  The Stone Roses didn't end up playing in the end and the place was full of folk who had paid £130 each to see them and John Squire had broke his shoulder or something.  There were a group camped next to us, who no matter what time you went back to the tent they were hanging around looking miserable, they had paid £130 to sit round a campfire :P

Neither is it exempt from stupidity. :P

Just because it's not doing exactly what you demand when you demand it doesn't mean that everything else that follows from your mouth is reasonable.

There's very good reasons why things happen when they do, and Glastonbury is the better for them.

Funnily enough, there's also good reasons why things elsewhere happen when they do - including that Glastonbury is better than them. :P

:P It's worth a try or do what I do these days.  Spend hours pouring over who's playing when, where etc and get all worked up about a couple of bands clashing.  Walk in the gates, get my lanyard thing and within 5 minutes have flung it, totally forgotten by the Friday which day it is anyway so absolutely no use.  Occasionally borrow one to find out who I'm supposed to be seeing to get sidetracked by something else on the way.  If I try to go by the timetable and programme I send myself mental, it's just not worth it.  Choose a band a day you really, really must see and then if you see the rest great, if not you can rest assured you will discovered something new.  :P
