So your three camps are
1. Likes the band
2. Likes some stuff the band does
3. Doesnt like the band

doesnt that just summarise all music?

the only album that could be considered indie is the bends and thats still a little farfetched.

Well i saw all three headliners, the only set which blew me away was Radiohead. KOL sucked dick, simply because the audience was lame. Too many casuals, those that were into their old stuff simply didnt get what they wanted. Arctics did the foolish thing of releasing the album on the weekend of the festival, wtf do they want, people to know their songs?

The idea of Radiohead being indie (as in the bullshit genre idiots like to make up) is laughable. Also, since when did having a catchy song represent being a good band

Arctic Monkeys album leaked weeks before it, was great knowing all the songs  :P

they probably did expect every1 to know their songs to be fair - every1 did for the first album before anything was released

didnt see any1 headline on the sunday - nobody took my fancy

Arcade Fire are shit. As are The Libertines, Guns and Roses, Dizzee Rascal, Cypress Hill, The Maccabees and Klaxons.

Deal with it.

Bit presumptious isn't it? I don't care for most of those either but there's still

Blink 182, Queens of the Stoneage, Biffy Clyro, Lostprophets, NOFX, Limp Bizkit, Weezer, Pendulum, Enter Shikari, Paramore, and the rest of the R1/NME tent to choose from that have been announced so far.

You don't have to miss the fest because you don't rate 7 of the bands!

Gaslight are f**king brillinat live, the 1st time they played at Reading they were drunk off their faces and was telling random stories about british sitcoms with a bit of charm to it and then when they played just ripped straight into music fierce and tight as f**k and it impressed me that they can switch between the two so easily.

I got into The Gaslight Anthen pretty late & am gutted I missed them in 08' when they played in the Lock Up. Got tickdts for their tour in June & when they got announced for Leeds too I was super chuffed. I thought they were a shoe in for V this year as I didn't think they'd do R&L 3 years on the trot.

I was a so-so fan from Mike Davis blagging them up, they were in the middle of a couple of good bands on Lock Up so I'd figure may aswell watch and they blew me away and now I massive fan.

Lithium05 try Sink Or Swim first, although I think they maybe a bit too American college rock/cow punk for your taste.

just seen another group on facebook and this is what this is what they had to say...

"What the f**k?

Pendulum are on the NME stage
and some band no ones heard of get to headline the main stage?

On what planet does Dizzee Rascal support Arcade chuffing Fire?

f**k off Arcade Fire."

Reading those comments just made me partially hate R/L.
They are so bloody ignorant! Just because their favourite band KoL and Arctic Monkeys dont headline every f**king year!
