Hello, i'm looking to volunteer at Leeds Fest this year, not because i can't afford it, merely because i'd like to do a bit of charity work, save a bit on the side, and still go the festival. Anwyay i'm 16 years old, and i'm on the lookout of outlets/charities which offer work at a festival. I've looked previously but my efforts have come up short, so if anybody could help me out on where the best place to look is, or names of places which would allow me and a few friends to volunteer, it'd be much appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

There are links on the official sites to work as Campsite assistants or Oxfam stewards but you have to be 18 or over. May have that problem with any charity to be honest.

Hello thank you for the response. I've seen the ones on the site, and yeah it says 18 but i've still clung onto the hope and belief you can do it at 16 after hearing stories about people volunteering at 16.

i think due to the fact they have to cover you under insurance as they are liable for you, they wont take you on under 18 anywhere on the festival site.

I'm not 100%, but it's probably not allowed under employment laws.

Best thing to do is, when you become 18, there is a section on the Reading website under info which is dedicated to applying to be a CAT (Campsite Assistance Team) and Oxfam member to work over the weekend for 3 8 hour shift's and free entry

As you're 16, I doubt anywhere would employ you for bar work, but have a look at this: http://www.eventrecy...volunteers.html
