I don't know if these have mentioned before but I came across something called 'Vacuum Travel Bags' in Poundland and I didn't expect too much from them but I got a pack to see if they're any good and so today I put a T-shirt in one and did it up then put it under water for about 5 mins and returned to find a dry shirt.
In my opinion I think these will be great for Glasto, especially for underwear which NEED to stay dry!
I am defiantly going to pop in for a few packs.

I've used these loads of times, to compress my clothes and make more space in my bag. Pretty nifty.

Hmm these look like a good buy.
I think I will invest in a couple from Poundland and try them out at BT in May as it won't break the bank !
*wonders what the quality will be like though after a few uses ...

A few, that's optimistic. Single use - just like everything from poundland but of course it'll do the job

Odd! I nearly bought this very thing today, but ended up with one of those picnic blankets that have the waterproof backing. Folds up to nothing, and is so light!
I couldn't quite stretch to two items, it was the £ shop after all ...

That's rather handy. I shall investigate.....

I got one of those too, I wish I picked up two as they aren't too big, I though they'd work a treat to use at the bottom of the tent

And what about the getting it all back INTO the rucksack on MOnday? No vacuums at Glasto. Are these bags the sort you deflate yourself?

The ones I've had can do that yeah, they have ziplocks so you just squeeze and sit on them until they go flat, seal the zip and bobs yer mums brother.

I've been using ordinary large(ish) zip-lock bags for this for donkey's years - mostly £shop jobbies as well in recent years ! Works a treat and also pretty much ensures everything stays completely dry regardless of any potential moonsoon-like conditions or natural disasters various ... like the deeply buried exploding can scenario experienced on a recent outing to elsewhere
Was wondering why I was getting more than the usual funny/suspicious looks on the tube until someone kinda asked me why my rucksack was leaking
How big are these and are they significantly thicker than standard bags or what ?

I got a blue one and went back today to find they only has red or green so I got the red because the green was awful
