I'm just grateful and absolutely ecstatic that they've reformed in the first place. I don't care if they headline or not, I just want to see my favourite band back together playing the songs I never thought I'd get to see live! I'm gonna be camped out on the barrier of the main stage for the whole of friday, even if it does mean I have to put up with watching Dizzee Rascal!

never seen the hype of the libertines. Pete is a childish, attention seeking twat. Granted i could find myself humming a few of thier songs, but thats a few. You could catch me humming a few songs of about 100 other bands.

Slightly unfair I'd say, Libertines have always had passion, it's obvious listening to their music, going to their gigs and their interviews and history in general (most probably don't know too much about it, or their legendary house gigs)

I would argue there isn't much passion in pop music from bands like Blink and Limp Bizkit, not that there's meant to be, they obviously don't take themselves very seriously, which is fine too.

My point isn't to ridicule what music people like, I'm sure there's people who think Limp Bizkit are gods gifts to music (Shudder..) but I disagree with your libertines comment, even if Pete can be a bit of a tool at times, as a collective, they're great.

Just my 2 cents!

DT

I thought he was refering to himself as an indie fag, as an idie fag's wet dream is for Libertines to headline and he wants them to headline.

im kinda half and half tbh brought up on rock, with the likes of ACDC, black sabbath and the zep but im an "indie fag" lmao, i agree with some of the comments like the libs dont have a great track record but it would be an epic performance youve got to admit. on the other hand ive only sampled arcade fire, ive never really give them a chance. but yea i was hoping for more of a "household" name to appear on the top slot, they just seem a bit out of the blue :/ but hey thats my opinion and your entitled to yours

much love x

Personally i would prefer a band to headline because of the qualtiy of their live shows than their popularity.

Most people bitching are just stupid Doherty fans that havnt even listened to Arcade Fire

I think that is the point, people havent listened to Arcade Fire, they havent had two or three catchy uber hits like Gun's, Blink and I suppose Doherty has had if you merge his two bands back catalogues.

I like The Libertines but they wasn't massive before the break up and if they have snagged a sub headlining slot they have done well for themselves.

Just think of where they would be if the press didn't love talking about junkie Peter and his ex Miss Moss.

I dont know if they have split up but know they werent doing as well on recent releases. The offsprings popularity also seems to decrease with every offering they make.  I agree paramore have picked up fans but to me this is evidence of fans moving from some of the older pop/punk bands to newer ones rather than a sudden boom in the genre.

i bet alot of paramores new found popularity comes from the fact that one of there songs is on twighlight, raking in all of the  12 - 15 year old crowd lmao

I think that your use of homophobic language in the title of this thread was well past what is acceptable.

If you can't act like a fully formed adult, then you'll be made to sit on the naughty step until you learn better.

Or I'll just simply ban you. :P

haha apologies im just quoting my mate :P

Paramore second headlining is an absolute joke.
