Aren't Josh & Axle at loggerheads though from when Eagles Of Death Metal supported Guns N Roses and Axel ripped into them on stage?

What, and you think GnR or Blink 182 will be any different? They will be just as many ''true fans'' at GnR and Blink as there was for KOL last year.
My take on KOL last year and their trouble at Reading was that there were plenty of "true" fans there but they only played two songs from their first record. They catered for the newer fans who don't add as much to the atmosphere by playing a lot of their slower stuff; if they had played older stuff then the people were there ready to appreciate it. They got their set list all wrong.

Out of their 20 song set list, they played 8 songs from Only By The Night.

That's different though because Kings Of Leon are played all the time so all the youngsters that have taken over the festival would have heard them on radio. They have probably heard 'Sex On Fire' about 50 times but I doubt they have ever heard 'Welcome To The Jungle'.

Guns N Roses Vs LCD Soundsystem or 'Carling' Tent headling. The majority of them won't even give GNR the time of day which is why I think they'll get a fairly hardcore support. I think a lot of people will buy day tickets just to see them.

Really, even after Welcome To The Jungle was the song that advertised one of the most popular video games of all time that sold more than 1 million copies in it's first week? Most people that like any form of rock music would have heard a GnR song at some point.

What a Yawnsome set that must have been - I love KOL but havent got much time for the polished, radio friendly new stuff.

The question is, if you were in their position would you have done the same thing. Make music, which is just as good and aimed at the masses - whilst making yourself a small fortune?

I'd be surprised if there were that many hardcore GNR fans to be honest, most of them would be put off by the fact that it isn't the 'proper' band so it'll mainly just be younger people who know five or six songs and who will probably be into QOTSA as well anyway.

Really??  This is the first confirmed UK concert since they released Chinese Democracy - I think a lot of hardcore GnR fans will be there, day tickets or other.  Young fans who only know fewer songs will most likely be blown away - Guns live is a firey, pyro-filled beast!
Most hardcore GnR fans I know have long accepted the line-up change as most of the current members have been in GnR for over ten years now..  "douchbag GnR fans" in my opinion are those who persist in yelling for slash..

No. GnR have been around long enough that even I, a person who really doesnt like them, knows pretty much all the lyrics to most of their hits.
What the person said about KoL was right, the majority came for two songs, they didnt know the early stuff so the atmosphere was terrible. Has KOL played more of their fan favourites it would have been a good show. What Radiohead did (although i think radiohead is hardly a one hit wonder type band anymore) was genius, get rid of the casual fans straight away and keep those that want to hear the album tracks.

was the same at T....apart from they had the added problem of their ear pieces breaking so when they did get round to playing one of their 2 songs off of youth and young manhood, mollys chambers, it was countless bpm slower than usual and sounded shit....i dream of the day when they play a festival and open with something like red morning light - happy alone - spiral staircase - genius - trani - mollys chambers :P

Yeah but because of the times isn't exactly up to scratch either and they played six off that 2 off the first and 3 off the second How can they sleep at night taking 'soft' 'cali waiting' from the fans

there is more chance GNR will be ruined by people shouting "play welcome to the jungle, paradise city, sweet child o mine"

but the same can be said for most acts like blink "play whats my age again?!?!"

Well GnR will play all them anyway so I wouldn't worry.
