QOTSA headline would do me nicely =]

would do me very nicely, stay in the NME tent and not have to worry about missing something amazing like Axl making a prize tit of himself.

Can't be any worse than the "I love RAAAAAAGE but only know Killing In The Name Off!! YEEAAAHHH!!!" crowd that ruined their '08 set.

despite what people say i really enjoyed thier 08 set. that had a "swagger" about them that made them act like they thought they were cool as f**k

Some questionable memories here. Their 08' set wasn't ruined by fans? No-one was shouting anything or throwing anything. QOTSA drew a big crowd who quickly got bored by a lacklustre performance & then everyone just seemed to start chatting amongst themselves. I was pretty much front & centre at Leeds & there was no hostility in the crowd at all.
If anything the run of NOFX, Prophets & Biffy (if it stays like that) should make for a hyped up crowd, lets hope QOTSA don't kill the atmosphere before GnR like they did last time.

They'll fare a hell of a lot better than MCR would have if that prediction of them playing below GNR came true.

Very true. I'm willing to give QOTSA another chance, anyway can have a bad day at the office. They'll fare a hell of a lot better than MCR would have if that prediction of them playing below GNR came true.

What a bloody stupid thread.
Personally, GN'R and QOTSA are my two favourite bands and that sunday night will be the best of my life.
If you're not a fan of QOTSA, go get a beer, see somebody else or pipe down and who knows, you might be surprised and enjoy what you see. The same applies for GN'R. Please don't ruin anybody's festival by being arses and throwing shit.

Aren't Josh & Axle at loggerheads though from when Eagles Of Death Metal supported Guns N Roses and Axel ripped into them on stage?
Problem with QOTSA is they are so bloody inconsistent, I've seen them play shows of f**king brilliance and a year later they are average, then back to awsome.

Absolutely agree - if you dont like it - dont stay at the main stage. I am only going to Reading for GnR, although I do like Qotsa a lot. What I dont like is idiots ruining my enjoyment of a band coz they're too lazy to fk off elsewhere and find something they can enjoy! Not saying anyone here is in that category - but please - GnR are SUPERB live and their line-up is absolutely stellar at the mo - they'll wipe everyone else off stage.

Not saying there was any hostility in the crowd for that 2008 performance. In fact, it was quite the opposite. No atmosphere at all, just a bunch of people waiting for RATM and being bored by one of the most talented bands around.

Saw them at Reading Rivermead in 2007 and they were incredible. As were a slightly different version of the band at V in 2003.
I thought they were good in 2008, I was smashed though and anything would have sounded good at the time, can't wait for them this year.

I think most people who are fans of Gn'R will be fans of QOTSA to be honest. I thought QOTSA's set at Leeds 08 was brilliant. Ok it didn't have all of the singles or the fan favourites but as far as the music and performance went, they pissed over everyone else (apart from Manics) at the festival imo.

EODM were so good last year.

I'd be surprised if there were that many hardcore GNR fans to be honest, most of them would be put off by the fact that it isn't the 'proper' band so it'll mainly just be younger people who know five or six songs and who will probably be into QOTSA as well anyway.

Guns & Roses will be f**king fantastic. I'm really not looking forward to the inevitable prat who throws stuff at Axl. Queens too, will be f**king great.

Wasn't like that at Reading. We were miles away and yet the whole crowd was buzzing. Although I know what you are talking about though.....Kings Of Leon last year was full of people just wanting to hear 'Sex On Fire' and 'Be Somebody'. Wish they didn't slow down so many songs though.

What, and you think GnR or Blink 182 will be any different? They will be just as many ''true fans'' at GnR and Blink as there was for KOL last year.
