It seems they are going to be billed as special guests so that could mean they wont be announced today?

I think they'll be announced as "Plus very special guests The Libertines" as opposed to just "special guests", as a means to feed the egos of the band by saying "you're not headliners, but you're very important"
Nice to see you back on form mike99... how many threads is that now?

They have to be announced today because Peter + Carl are on the front cover of NME on Tue/Wed with their first exclusive reunion interview.

It seems pretty certain now that The Libs will be playing under the title of 'Special Guests.'
But what if they were special guest headliners ?? As a way of pushing ticket sales by kind of focusing their return as the highlight of the festival.
I know special guests are usually 'bigger' acts playing further down the bill than their egos think they should be.
But i just cant get it into my head that the long anticipated return of The Libs will result in anything less than a headline slot.
This time in 5 hours all will be clear.
