What do you think to Manics?

I'm usually just a lurker on here but I was thinking about this before so thought I'd post. With it looking pretty certain that one of the days will be The Libertines followed by Arcade Fire, I was thinking of the possibility of Manic Street Preachers 3rd below Libs? I know they played the NME tent in '08 but I don't think 3rd is too low for them?! I think Manics before the Libertines and then Arcade Fire would flow quite well and be a good end to the day.
Realistic d'ya think? General thoughts?

not sure it's very likely, but i'd love it.

They played no Englisg festivals last summer despite releasing a highly-acclaimed album, so I would have thought there's a pretty good chance. Certainly hope so. I gave Leeds a miss last year for the first time ever. Manics would get me back!

That's what I was thinking, they haven't done the new album at festivals. And they'd be a popular booking. I don't think its out of the question.

Doubt they'd be as good as they were in the tent in 2008, but as they're my favourite band of all time then the likelihood of me complaining at them playing would be minimal!
As I mentioned in the other topic, I think the reason The Libertines are playing 2nd is because they could pull out at any time and would be a waste of a headliner, so a band that could easily be shunted up to 2nd if that happened should be 3rd, and I think the Manics fit that criteria well.

Always great live, one of the best in my view. Would like them to be 2nd main, maybe 3rd. But i would assume they'll be at Glasto this year with a fairly decent slot. Next year i would say defo.

The Manics should be above the Libertines. Show some respect.

In an ideal world, yes. Sadly we're not in 1994 any more and Pete Doherty is considered to be more "exciting" than Nicky Wire. Most teenage Indie NME zealots probably don't even know who Richey Edwards was. Sad but true. Also, they've been billed under Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs and The Kooks at festivals before. Bitter pill to swallow but hey, they're still the best band of all time.

They were amazing in 08, I'd love to see them on the Main Stage.

Manics would be awesome.
Same with Sterophonics.
Defiantly two of the undercard bands I am hoping for, although I know Stereophonic's wont cause they are at V.

I would ejaculate if they did play, and it is possible, just for some reason I can't really see it happening. It is true it won't be anywhere near as good as them in the tent in '08 if they do play the main stage, but they could still pull off an awesome gig.
Although no doubt they won't make the setlist quite as awesome.
