As a couple have said earlier... ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT in 2000!! They were awesome, hit after hit after hit and a touch of Cerys Matthews. Still have the VCR of me on someone's shoulders singing (was alot lighter 10 years ago, no way I'd get on anyone's shoulders anymore).

Saw them in '00, I have to admit I wasn't HUGELY impressed (although there was a little fruit throwing going on and at one point Neil Tennant looked like he was considering walking off, which was quite amusing), but I had been a fan in my teen years and they put on what would normally be their full show, which is quite arty and theatrical, so for pure spectacle I would say they are worth seeing.
As said before, like Madness last year they would be ripe for a little late afternoon/early evening singalong fun. I'll certainly wander along again this year if the timing is right.

+1 here, most disappointing acts I've seen. Or half seen at any rate - I was covering the event for my magazine and the bastards locked us in the press tent for the first half of the show, then let us in the pit for the mid-section. Afterwards they tried to shut us all back in the tent again. unfortunately they didn't allow for the two entrances the tent had that year...

I hope you all enjoy them. I shall be elsewhere. They do my head in.

I'd rather lick the sick-flecked spittle from a tramp's beard than listen to The Pet Shop Boys.
But hey, that's just my opinion! You kids go and enjoy them!

if they do, i would suggest your not doing it right!!

It's fine, we can let the boys go somewhere else and watch similar men play faux authentic guitar w*nkery while the Pyramid enjoys full on pop nirvana. They'll play all their hits, everyone will have a massive smile on their face, going 'oh, this one too, I'd forgotten about THIS one, I loved this one when I was 13'. Superb. I 'm tremendously excited about a field full of us joining in singing 30 years of great songs

Shouldn't be a problem by Sunday night.

The Pyramid Stage at 22:30 (ish) on the Sunday night is your target. How/when you get there is a mystery, and will probably remain so until 22:00 (ish) on the Sunday night.
You might not have to walk far. Depends what's on.
I know for a fact that unless there's an act I really want to see on the same stage right before Stevie, I won't be anywhere near that part of the site.
I would ideally like Ray Davies to play the Acoustic Stage on the 2nd to last slot. So right after he's done I can wander down to the Pyramid Stage (stopping at the Cider Bus) before taking my space for a serious Sunday night boogie with Stevie and friends.

Same goes for Faithless, either way I'll be off to see Orbital afterwards.

One of the greatest British bands of the last 30 years ??
Good grief.
A couple of aging queens belting out some hideous pop songs? Sounds utterly horrific to me.
Each to their own like, but just because songs are easily recognisable doesn't make them good.
This band are f**king awful.
(though they did do one song about homeless people I quite like)
