tickets go on sale at 6.45 on monday 29th, rather than the usual 7pm slot.
this may possibly give us more chance of getting tickets as most expect them to go on at 7.
if you're wandering, this is on the 2009 official reading page.

They went on sale at 7.30pm in 2008 so hopefully some will still think that its 7.30pm this year.
Might just log on seetix at like 20 past 7 now I know its going to be this easy.

Because posting it on what is probably the largest festival community on the interwebz is the way to keep it quiet
Haha.
What is interesting, is tickets go on sale at the same time as the lineup is announced (though no doubt Fearne Cotton will announce the saturday headliner on her lunchtime radio 1 show, as Jo Wiley has done the past few years) so it's reasonable to think that quite a few people will be buying tickets without even knowing for sure who's playing.
Could there also be a case of people waiting, just for a few minutes to see who's playing before trying to buy, thus giving those of us who just have blind faith and will go for it at dead on 6.45 regardless a better chance?

nah theres always gonna be an almighty rush. give people some credit, vast majority will be there on the dot cos we all know its got such huge demand. but if you persevere you will definitely get tickets either on the night or afterwards from an official place.

Had enough of going in the scrum for leeds tickets, if i go then i'll buy a ticket off ebay couple of days beforehand, since lets face it, prices touting were charging 4/5 years ago on ebay (which has reminded pretty consistantly at just under two ton) is what fr charge for a ticket now. Also if it's anything like last year, on the basis of the first announcement i'll think that looks awful!

Cool. When is the actually first announcement? as it all depends on that if I go or not. I should probably already know this but I don't
Cheers!

on a related note, when Glastonbury tickets went on sale, can't remember the exact time lets say 9am, my girlfriend just tried the page at 8:45am and she got our tickets straight away.
its always worth trying a few mins before

That's much less likely to happen with R/L for a variety of reasons. Tho there's no harm in trying.

Dont know how anybody could have trouble getting tickets for Leeds. In the 7 years I've gone I've got them straight away. Last 2 years I just went on the next morning (seetickets crashes with traffic so they put it up as sold out, when infact it isn't they just put them back on sale the next day) and got them fine

Best keeping an eye on these forums on ticket day. Loads of helpfull hints to help get tickets. Shame it's not limited to users as sometimes it gets impossible to get on here due to traffic.
