I was just wondering...does the obsessiveness die down at all? I mean what happens once Glasto is over, we've had a hot bath and a good nights kip? Does everyone just hit the forums and Glastobate about next years festival?

After the fest you have to review it, share memories and photos, whinge about whatever went wrong and who was crap, get all excited about who and what turned out amazing etc etc etc. There isn't ever a time when Glastobating is inappropriate

My friend mentioned seeing Tony Benn with one of his mates from college in his status on facebook.
I then went on full throttle Glastobate mode and explained exactly how much of a legend he is to the average Glastonbury punter/obsessive. My mate then said that he (tony benn) mentioned going to Glasto every year and that it was a bit noisy! Made me smile

I for one am renowned for coming on here sometime within 3 days of the fest ending and ripping it to shreds, moaning, whinging, putting it to rights and generally hating everything that has changed in the last 15 years...in 04 I swore I would never return to the fest...gave it a break in 05 and dont regret it (except maybe Brian Wilson on Sunday afternoon)...came back in 07 in full throttle cos the pangs of not being at my favourite (but not as good as the old days
) festival.
I love it, I hate it...but it is in my every waking thought.
Within about erm...half an hour I think of starting at my temp job last week I was already talking about it

I'm obsessed and proud of it.
I'm a late starter - at the age of 48, this will be my third Glastonbury; my three mates and I will have a combined age of 200 this June.
We are currently having weekly discussions down the pub re:flags, fancy dress, tents, best boots, line-up rumours and predictions, blah de blah de blah....love it.
Obviously this year will not be as good as 2009 - unless they squeeze Neil Young in again somewhere (secret gig in The Park? I think I'd die), but it will be quite simply the Best Week Of The Year. End of.

I'm pretty much obsessed with it. Every time I hear a new album I like, the first thing I think of is whether they'd be Glasto lineup material and what stage they'd be on. Plus I tweet about it nearly every day so it's always there in some way. Always puts me in a good mood.

I've been suffering the acute form since 1994, and a slightly milder version kicked in after my first ever visit in 1984!
Totally obsessed - almost as much as when we start obsessing about the weather over on net-weather and in the weather thread on here eh WOW lol !

Seriously, I know everyone on here keeps saying stuff like "It doesn't matter who's playing" and "The lineup will piss all over other festivals" BUT...IwantNEED to know. I think excitement levels will be off the charts once we are all in the know

Its all about keepin the faith n ting,
n im checking sleep counters, gate open counters inc. seconds, which is in the 85 million range BTY.
But I know I wont be happy until I see a clashfinder(May I hope, but prob early June). By the time it becomes available we'll know who will be there, and fretting over clashes!!
OMG Dont start me on the Clashes!!!
PS. I NEED to know some more Line-up!! Agggggggggh

HAHA! The idea of stuff clashing didn't even enter my head until the other day (first timer). Now I've started feeling anxious that I might have to pick between 2 favourites
...and you're not helping me keep a calm head!

Welcome to the obsessive club I have been going every year since 1994. Unfortunately this is my last year for a long time this is due to me getting on to a PGCE course (congratulations to me) so I will be a teacher when Glastonbury is on. I also have a son who is now in school (thank you to my Mother in Law and Mom and Dad for looking after him) so me in school and my son in school makes Glastonbury a luxury we cannot do. This of course means that I can go to a lot smaller festivals in the summer. So in summery bring on the weather thread, the real ale tread the joy of the leftfield being back and I don't care who is playing where as there is always something fun to be done. Don't forget to go to Yam the Casarver for a really good meal at least once. This year is going to be great and to miss quote Samuel Johnson if you are tiered of Glastonbury you are tired of life.
